Ebay stories?

thats a pretty fricken sick story my guy.

I'v sold stuff and since last fall if you have usps ground Shipping offered, when you print the label it prints as flat rate envelope and get charged 7.40$. Ebay chat says to cancel the label and get a new Shipping option or something but I never do because u can't figure out how so I schedule a package pickup .fir awhile I was getting away with it, even sent a pair of skis for 7.40$ and other large, 6', boxes for 7.40$ but the mailman figured it out and would bring them back and I'd have to got to the post office and pay tge difference . I still schedule a package pick-up, they return it etc. Alot of explaining to do to the buyer but fuck usps fir not removing ground Shipping from eBay. The last big 4' box I shipped fir 7.40$ I took it to a different post office with the flat rate envelope label and off it went, git delivered then the custy sends a message saying he had to pay 64$ to receive the package, so I refunded the 64$. Total hassle so I'll just keep scheduling package pick-ups ,get returned, give to po , pay.
Also ebay new fees are you pay 12.9% on tge price of the sale, the shipping and the tax wich is total bullshit.

I feel like eBay is full of scammers and Chinese knock offs anymore. I have been looking for truck parts and most of them are sketchy at best. I used to buy and sell a lot of stuff there.

i know im gonna get hate for this but i drunk ordered 3 Trump 2024 flags in like april, next day my card got hacked and never got my flags lol. didnt even feel like going through the paperwork to get my 200+ dollars back so i hope the chinese dude is happy

I was selling a pair of JVC HA-SZ2000 headphones that have become a bit of a cult classic over the years. The bass is insane, but the rest of the range sounds pretty muddy as a result. Nevertheless, since they've been discontinued they've increased in value. I never use em anymore so I figured I'd flip them on ebay for a few hundred bucks.

I sold to some guy and shipped them out the next day. No issues there. The day after they delivered, the guy messaged me saying "hey bro I went on a road trip and my car's engine just died is there any way I could return the headphones I really need the money." I'm 99% sure he put them on and realized that good bass doesn't mean good headphones. They sound like ass and I think he realized he spent $450 on headphones that kinda blow.

Since I'm a bitch apparently I let him return them. It was such a massive pain in the ass to use PayPal/eBay's refund system. I had to call each company multiple times to let them accept my money. Super frustrating and it probably hurt my seller rating because it took 2 weeks to jump through all the hoops to just give this poor guy his money back.

A month later I'm back where I started with 20 fewer dollars than I had before since I paid for the shipping to send it to him. Huge waste of time and energy. I should've told him lol no when he asked to return

Bought 280 grams of tourmaline crystals at a great price, when it arrived it weighs 180grams so I did a refund thing and the guy in Pakistan went apeshit ebay chat said he has 4 days ti provide a return shipping label but he didn't do anything so after 4 days ebay says I can keep them and got a refund. Then the guy sends me a bunch of messages, calls my phone# etc. Idk, if he rips me off fuck him so in the end I got them for free .

True but ebay got great return policies etc. Just build your case asap by attaching pictures in the messages you send the seller etc so if tgeres a dispute ebay looks at messages and boom, your good

Been selling on eBay for years, even since I was a kid really. Ive had some interesting interactions and whatnot.

When I was about 13/14 years old i was into modding nerf guns and doing custom paint jobs and stuff like that then selling them on ebay. I listed a sniper rifle type nerf gun that worked perfectly fine and was actually a fairly expensive blaster. Sold it to somebody, and they receive it and demand a return because it "jammed every time they shot it". I had tested it a ton before i sold it so i knew it was BS. Ebay wouldn't let me deny the return because they claimed it was "broken/defective" and at 14 years old had to explain to an adult that they were stealing from a kid and that they are teaching their own kids bad things by stealing from me. I basically ate the $45 or whatever it was and told them to just keep it because it would have been almost $20 to ship it back to me and actually hope that they returned everything I sent.

Another time, i listed a thompson airsoft gun for sale that i had painted to look legit, and it was actually really cool. I sold this thing for like $85 or something, and the dude that bought it was a lil bitch and wanted to return it because he said "The bolt handle was broken off and i needed this for historical accuracy for a costume and the broken handle ruined it" So i responded to the return case and said "you can clearly see in the photos that the bolt is broken off and this in no way affects the function of the airlift gun". Long story short, ebay denied his return request and I got to keep the money.

Tagging onto what somebody else said, Ive accidentally come across the loophole of the $7.45 flat rate shipping deal, when I shipped out an auxiliary radiator fan from my BMW. That box was probably 25 pounds and about 15x18x3" and i bought the cheapest shipping option that ebay offered for it. Couldn't figure out what to do or if it would work. But i put it out by the mailbox, the mailman picked it up, the package got delivered, i got paid, and never heard anything more about it lol.

Long story short, I've been selling for years, have come across tons of scammers, have been screwed by ebays buyer protection program, and have also been graced by the protection program as well. But i enjoy ebay, its great for finding little car pieces for the BMW's that i work on and restore.

I sold a micro rc 4ch heli to an old guy and Sunday night he starts sending me messages, weres my package etc , he bought it on Saturday, this went on Monday Tuesday, anyway he cancels the order, but won't cancel when in transit. He gets it and complained the battery was puffy, wasn't puffy in the picture and included a brand new in the package battery also , I asked ebay how to block this guy but forgot to a put another one up for sale and a couple months later it sells and it's this same complainer , I ship it but it gets returned to me because of the flat rate envelope label, on ebay it says delivered and their money clears but the guy went ballistic, shows him receipt were I went to po to pay more but everyday till it arrived he sent a bunch of complain messages but in the process find out he's a commercial helicopter pilot and kinda bonded and got a good review from him even it pays to not swear at the buyer I guess

I just upgraded my CPU processor (went from an Intel i7-8700k to an i9-9900k) and went to sell my i7 on ebay. Before the buy it now listing I made even posted, it sold. There are definitely people using bots to scan/buy certain products. Worst part is I should have listed it for like $50 more than I did, so someone got a good deal :(
