in 2010 the Canadian government bought a fucking pile of bus tickets for homeless people to relocate to the interior of bc so that the olympics went smoother.
I have 0 source on this other than just talking to homeless people and living in the interior of BC my entire life. I wouldn't be surprised if various governemnts have paid for tickets ngl. That being said, I completely agree with cities being far too accommodating for people who have 0 drive to help themselves, or be productive members of society.

Is this news to you or something? Every police department in the country does this to some extent, you can’t make any money off of fining people that have nothing so they ship them off. It has nothing to do with politics it’s just logistics and money.

I don’t think that red states are sending their junkies to big cities; but to say that cities like San Francisco are junkie havens because they give out free needles is asinine. Cities like San Francisco have high homelessness rates because of its insanely high cost of living, not because of their harm reduction measures meant to curb the spread of AIDS.

You had me until needles. Needle programs exist pretty much everywhere to some extent and significantly reduce blood borne pathogen transmission of diseases such as HIV and Hep B. They need to be more accessible. Addicts will always find a way. Needle exchange programs help improve the safety. The arguments against those programs are analogous to saying giving people condoms makes them have more sex. No it just reduces disease transmission.
But seriously though so many "homeless" people aren't even homeless. My neighborhood is right off a main road that's on the fringe of the hood. Fucking panhandlers everywhere post up on both exits from the interstate and rotate in shifts. One guy fake cries. Another sits in a wheelchair but leaves it when he goes home at night. Another panhandler was identified as the porch pirate who hit multiple homes in our neighborhood last year-he drives a car and Columbus doesn't prosecute porch pirates. They don't want food or clothes or blankets- just cash (or beer as this fuck below). There's really only a few truly in need people near me and the rest are just gaming the system knowing that they have an unlimited cash flow off a major highway (I-71). They litter everywhere and I mean litter like no other. I fucking hate it and the cops don't do shit because it's not a rich suburb. You won't see these people in the hood begging cuz they won't get shit. You also don't see them in the areas with multimillion dollar homes or rich white suburbs cuz the cops keep them away. Fucking hate panhandlers. I once watched a homeless man yell at a "fake homeless" man as he defined it outside a bar.

You speak the truth there, I gave some lady panhandler 20$ cause she was apparently fake crying and the next day I see her walking by home depot with a couple homeless dudes drinking and having a great time, haven't given jack since and once I gave a homeless guy a bunch of instant cocoa and granola bars and the greasy fucker threw then back at me and got all bent yelling he just wants money. Another time I saw this guy who was missing his foot so I gave him 3 cold beers and he left all his crap on the side of the intersection and hopped across the street so fast into some bushes. I'm done helping the homeless, call me callous but they're a bunch of freeloaders.
Sometimes when i’m on my way home in my BMW from skiing Vail, i pass a bum they’re always at the exit ramp. I take a balloon with some champagne in it, lob it out and bean him with it. He only gets a little bit in his mouth not the whole thing not even a full sip of it and you say “hey how you like a taste of the good life u sack of shit!”
