Have a broken pair of the Black Crows Camox Freebird that i messed up this winter and had to get a replacement. Want to make use of them and make a shot ski out of it. Was thinking 4 shot holes (182cm ski). Online i have seen most people either use magnets or velcro on top, how does drilling all the way through the ski with a large bit and then wedging the shot glass in there? any downsides to this method?
Sounds like a good idea to me. Only downside I can see is it wouldnt be as stable when it is sitting on the counter. I imagine the shot glass bottom sticking out passed the base of the ski unless you drilled the perfect size hole to allow the shot glass to wedge in there perfectly flush with the base. Just my thoughts but sounds like a good simple idea. Post picts when done!
I've used duct tape and empty keurig cups to make one when needed in a hotel room. Skis were still mounted with squires, just backed the heelpeice all the way off and the tiny toepeice is small enough to not get in the way.
If i made one i might cut in a little bit to hold but mostly would rely on epoxy. If it's for your home it's really not that hard to clean out a few shit glasses on a ski. I dont think it's necessary to be able to release then unless at a bar or something.
Have seen rubber rings you can get and glue on that hold the shot glasses in place but allow you to remove for washing.
Personally I'd just go the most straightforward route. Its not like id be using it several times every day.
I’ve made one using a holesaw that’s just bigger than the diameter of the base of polycarbonate no-smash tapered 2oz shot glasses and used a clear setting 2 part epoxy to fix them in place. If you make sure and put one on each contact point of the camber of the ski you can rest it on them.
Use high strength Velcro, it works amazing and then you can wash the shot glasses so they don't get nasty. Pro tip, do it on an actual pair of skis and whip you ski off in the line, take a shot, then keep going.

I have used a hole saw bit on an old pair of 4frnt VCTs to make a pint ski... It works great and Its been used for years. I electrical taped the inside of the hole so that it would grip a little better to the pint and it lodges in there real solidly.
only one time has a pint glass ever come out and that was drinker's error because he like grabbed it as he fell backwards lol.
If it works with pints, it definitely works with shots, although with those, Ive found it easier just to glue the glasses to the ski and just wash them out with a rag...
However, if you want to go pro, you have got to get yourself a set of these and slap them on your next shot ski project.

Could do this as well, still have the other ski that is broken as well. Where do I buy them?
