Replying to Europe vs North America.

As the ski season for me ended over 2 months ago, and the initial bout of soul-consuming depression has faded slightly, planning for next season has begun in earnest, and I have been wanting to go to a more unfamiliar ski resort, compared to the European resorts I've always skied at. What I was wondering was, are the extra costs of flights from the UK to America, and the higher costs in-resort worth it compared to the multitude of European ski resorts? And if so, any recommendations where to go? I don't care whatsoever about the party scene, apres, sightseeing or anything non-ski related. I usually ski virtually everything there is on offer at the resort, so I'm not on the lookout for anything in particular, just a very well-rounded buffet of things to ski on. Thanks very much, and sorry in advance if this thread is a bit stupid, I could really do with a bit of advice though.
