Shift bindings anyone? Or they to shifty

I do have a set of daymakers and now that I have tech fittings on my boots I was looking to not have the extra in my airbag

Just get cast if you already ski pivots, I know you end up with a couple pounds in your pack but it'll be worth it for 90/10 split usage.

The shifts are pretty cool, and after initial issues with AFD adjustments I skied them without issue in the resort for 30ish days. I sold them last winter just because my priorities shifted in what I'm able to do with my skiing right now. I'm 5'7" ~145lbs and rode DINs at 8.5.

I actively recommend against shifts after seeing them blow up on friends and also pre-release.

if you are doing short tours and sidecountry, get the cast system or better yet, get the Duke PT. i have those and they seem bulletproof compared to the shift.

I own/owned shifts and currently have a few CAST setups. Once I set the shifts up correctly I had no issues with them, have friends who ski them as DD’ers and have had zero issues. But other have had issues.
CASTs on the other hand are solid, a little heavier but you can’t beat Pivots on the way down.

This. Some shops dont know how to adjust the shifts. Youll have to double check it yourself. The bindings hold up

Good to hear Ive been researching the issues and set up .. I really want to believe in these

Mine are set up properly and have no issues so far. If you plan on switching boots though you have to keep changing how they are set up, which is a pain in the ass and eventually you will fuck it up. I personally would still not use them 90% in bounds. I use them for a) skinning in bounds before lifts open b) hiking in bounds (or skin back to lift) c) touring. Never for just a random lift served day unless its with family. Every time I am nuking through variable shit in them I get horrified and shut it down, idk if its the touring boots, the light skis, or the bindings, or just a feeling that I'm about to blow up...but I still don't feel confident skiing 100% on them, maybe like 80%, which isn't good for in bounds. I'm 150 pounds also. I would just get two set ups. I doubt it will be more expensive as alpine bindings last forever and these things definitely will not.

Rotation 12s brother, pass the kids on their casts and still go as big as em.
