Do you find it sad that even if there is a God, humans will inevitably join the long line of forgotten intelligent civilizations

I cant find a way to look at this that is not rather depressing and foreboding. It makes no sense for humans to be the first intelligent life forms ever, just like it makes no sense for us to be the last. The only thing that makes sense is that there have been an infinite number of intelligent civilizations before us, and there will be an infinite number after us, and there is no way we will ever know about them, and in the end their existence will not only be forgotten, but fundamentally unknowable.
