270on420outIn the context of black music, it can be. We saw this with Jazz in the early 20th century when it was referred to as “jungle music” and people treated it like it was the devils music. It’s wrong to label an entire, majority black, music genre as trash just because it doesn’t incorporate traditional musical elements.

The difference here is Hip Hop was traditionally a Black form of music and has a history of talent and hard work and has not basically devolved into idiots with Rainbow hair rhyming the same word with itself. Most people are not hating on Hip Hop, just the recent trend of lazy trash being put out today. Your point would be valid if it was 1995 but most people here saying modern mumble rap is trash will tell you they grew up listening to 2Pac, Biggie, DMX, Andre Nickatina, Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Tech N9ne, Immortal Technique, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Mac Dre etc.
