I don't personally believe in any god, and I hate the fact that we as a society have become dependant upon religion. I don't hate on religious people, and I think that whoever came up with the whole religion concept is either a fucking genius or insane, but it bothers me that people rely on "god" for their day-to-day life.
I mean who the fuck wants to follow guidelines like 'do not murder' and 'do not covet' and 'honoring your parents'. ... Clearly religious people are bad.
I started believing in god when I realized life is more fun when you do, think about how much better life was when santa was real. Figured fuck it and slowly but surly I have a better outlook on life and am living a better day to day life, not a die hard christian or anything but def believe in some sort of higher power.
I also noticed that most of the people who do belive in god or are religious or spirtual seem to have a better grip on life, obviously not all of them and some of them are off the walls crazy. But for the most part it seems to help people. I also ate a load of shrooms couple times so that helps.
Butterytips69Are you saying that Dolan is god? Now there’s a religion I’m down to join
haha. Maybe some day. I could see being a pastor just trashing feminism for 2 hrs every sunday morning.
zueslol this dude makes the best threads.
I personally prefer to believe a higher being exists. But who TF knows.
pretty much yeah. Its foolish to think its not possible for some sort of God-like thing to exist
AndrewGravesSVThere isnt any evidence God exists let alone which religion is the "right" one. I think it helps a bunch of people's psyches.
If you scared, go to church
in my view of it, if God exists, it might not even have anything to do with religion.
its even possible that a God could exist that didnt even pay attention to humanity.
ElcheapoYep, theirs some trippy stuff in the bible , divine beings, the second coming (with an o) , end of the world type stuff, it's worth a read .
I think the bible is cool but im not really a religious person. If i were forced to pick a religion i would choose buddhism, because buddhism at its core is the art of trolling.
But religion is an embarrassment of riches. They cant all be right.

depending on where you live in the world you can find places where religion and faith are very low key. Like switzerland. Who needs God when you can get prescription heroin administered at a medical clinic then go ski park on a glacier in july.
270on420outYes but not in the traditional sense
this is kind of how i feel. I think if God exists, He transcends almost everything.

yeah. Really when you are faced with annihilation (death) you need either faith or drugs or both.
i suspect that death is nothing to be afraid of but i feel much more cozy about the idea of death with opioids in my system. Even worse than death tho is the idea that the universe might not restart from the beginning and play again. Because if that is the case, at some point in ghe future, nothing sentient will ever know we existed, just as humans are not aware of the infinite number of intelligent life forms that existed before us in this universe or prior universes. It will be all for nothing. If you can actually grasp the idea that in the grand scheme of things, nothing other than a God like entity will every know we existed, then its hard to not reach for drugs.
skiermanI think its funny when fat fuck Dolan makes a flurry of shitty posts in the middle of the night while drinking alone in his parents' basement.
im not in the basement. And im not nearly as fat as you minitroll boy.
I didn't for a long time because my catholic upbringing in greater Boston led me to view organized religion as power hungry institutions focused on political, financial and social control...
but then this one time....
i hit a dmt pen
and i saw some shiiiiit mannn.
an angel-demon took me on a tour of the universe from sub-atomic quartz all through the galaxies to celestial nurseries where i witnessed stars being born and even got a peek into the multi-verse.
now i'm agnostic. which is a cop out.
but fuck it we simply cannot explain creation through our science or with the bearded old guy in the sky.
we cannot explain our own consciousness much less the potentially intelligent consciousness behind the design of an infinite and ever expanding universe, which may be just one of an infinite number of infinitely expanding universes....

If you learn enough about the universe Infinity starts becoming the only thing that really makes sense.
JAHpowLol gonna send this to my friend who's a SEAL, he'll get a kick out of it
Nice. I thought about buds when i was younger because i could swim the 50 meters underwater (down and back in a regular full size lap pool) that you needed to be able to do for buds.
but my whole life i have had problems retaining heat in my body; as a kid doing morning swim practice i would be shivering the whole time. And in buds they basically throw you in the 50 degree water in the ocean for a week to see which recruits can resist hypothermia. I would literally die given my history of getting cold easily.
that being said i dont think i could deal with the sleep deprivation either.

wow a serious and valid post in a dolan thread. NICE
I’m not sure, but a kind and benevolent God would not have allowed me to have a life ruining injury at such a young age. I was very Lutheran before my injury happened, it really caused me to reevaluate my relationship with religion. I’d say these days I’m more agnostic. I’m not sure if there’s a God or not, but most likely no.

So the Holy Spirit, the gift of faith spoke to me and he said, “kick her in the face.”
