i go to school in seatte and some of my friends told me that in the fall, when classes are back in person and the vast majority of people are vaccinated bc it's seattle, they still will probably wear a wask

i have no problem with masks, but i don't see the point of wearing them if essentially everyone on a campus is vaccinated

I think its relatable, not necessarily as a threat, but in the last year if you didn't wear a mask somewhere where it was required you got told to put a mask on or to leave. It was pretty rare where I lived to see people without a mask inside but it will certainly be different when you first go to a store and majority of the people aren't wearing masks.

My guess is they'll drop them when state governors feel an adequate number of people have been vaccinated.

I know VT, CT, and RI have all dropped their mask requirements (except in healthcare, public transportation, and juvenile childcare settings), with MA and NH most likely to follow in the coming weeks.

That being said, I think many private businesses (in New England) may keep up the mask requirements for at least another 6-8 months as data has suggested that the remaining 30-40% are more resistant to getting vaccinated.

Either way, so much for "the federal government will always have us wearing masks".....

State mandates still (this will likely be changed next week) require masks outdoors if you can't socially distance.

Cambridge requires masks outdoors no matter what.

Federal, state, and local guidelines aren't always in sync.

FYI if your employer requires you to get vaccinated as a condition of employment, any adverse reaction is a recordable incident under OSHA regulations.

If you have kids that can’t get vaccinated yet it’s like oh great the train is leaving the station without them. But I saw the zip code I live in is like 87 vaccinated already so what can you do, relying on each other to protect the most vulnerable is not really in America’s DNA anymore
