Has anyone randomly met other Newschooler out in the wild? Just randomly bumping into a person with a sticker or maybe recognizing the @BigPurpleSkiSuit ? For me, about a month ago I was at a post season rail jam, having a conversation with a couple of the competitors and one of the kids asked “Hey, are you Celery?” We then proceeded to have a short conversation about ns, and my fantastic backflip attempt from the previous weekend that he found on my insta, then he proceeded to absolutely show me up during the rail jam (He did a friggin back 630 out). @milotv34 you fucking shred.


Any other similar experiences?

Always a good time meeting up with other nsers. Skiied with @katrina too this szn and countless others at PC.

@OregonDead and @mountaindewgirl stopped through for some beers and skiing. Well Jon was broken so mostly beers for him.

Me and @Mingg won beer pong at r2r

I did shots with @Mr.Bishop

I slept on a few NSers couchea in Montana last year, went cliff jumping with another.

Have hung out with a few here and in other countries.

I took a bus to check out an NSers park in Norway while I was there.

Idk. Generally NSers are the same in real life, just less assholes than you might think and probably more lame lol. And then maybe everyone can nerd out about stupid NS shit while drinking. Yeea.

But yeah NS peoples are cool.

Was skiing at Alta a few season back when a young pretty lady jumped on the chair with my sister, brother-in-law and myself. We started to make small talk and I heard her say she had just come back up from the southern hemisphere which I had remember reading a thread on NS about a girl returning back to the states to ski and I looked at her and asked if she was @AbiH. Sure enough! Crazy odds for sure but we ended taking a few laps in some good Utah pow. Met up with @OregonDead numerous times to shred Hood through the past few seasons. 10/10 would recommend to ski with any of them and I hope to meet more NS users along the way in this journey of life.

That was such a fun rail jam. I also (sort of) met @DomRichard on ns talking about skis and then skied with him a bit at lost valley/loaf later that season.

I've met two. One who doesn't seem to be active anymore, and another who I don't remember. Met them like 6+ years ago.

Any "older" NSers tend to avoid younger kids who have NS stickers on their helmet? I'll see them every once in a while, but I don't say hi cuz I feel like I'm too old lol. Or maybe it's because I'm a dick idk

I met the illustrious @279089578772 over a decade ago skiing at Marble in Newfoundland. We've skiied and hung out some since.
@freestyler540 let me crash at his place for a few weeks and we skiied together daily. Good times.
It was rad skiing with @Kevin_ and @cstromberg at Ruka and Serena.

literally the stupidest thing. went and like tail buttered or pressed whatever u call that off a tiny side hit under the blue chair and was just going way to fast ig and looped out. got pretty bad whiplash and i think the top of my pole in my hand must just absolutely hammered in my chest. hurt to breath pretty bad for a good 3 weeks. luckily wasnt fully broken or anything just more of a crack the doctor said.

many years ago back in the ns dojo tinychat days, i was like 15 years old and was on the tinychat almost every night talking to the same group of random nsers. Found out that one dude, @KEVTRON , worked at Alta which is my home mountain. About a month later i stopped to grab some water in goldminers daughter and saw a worker there with "Kevin" on his nametag. I went up to him and asked him if he was KEVTRON from ns, he was, he connected the dots and realized i was one of the random nsers he'd been talking to on tiny chat, and then i got really embarrassed because he was like a full grown man and i, to him, looked like a toddler probably. super nice dude though

Saw @BigPurpleSkiSuit up at snowbird and it was freaking dope, seen him up there a bunch since and its always rad to see him ripping some good ole' peruvian laps. Skied a full day down at brian head with a fellow newschooler but I forgot his freakin name, kid was the only one throwing down in the park.

Just throw a newschoolers sticker on the back of your helmet and people will see ya, I always get asked "what boots should i get?" or "How do i get to chad's from the bottom of alta?", it can be pretty funny

I've met probably another several dozen NS'ers all over the country, from day drinking with @ModMommy many years ago at IF3 to getting my first tattoo courtesy of @FBGM to @Troy. just generally being one of the kindest people I know. This site has given me a lot. My only true random encounter was running into Lorin (not sure his NS handle, but @public_television on Insta) in Powell's Books in Portland, OR. I'd last seen him at IF3 Montreal more than a year ago, so it was pretty surprising.

Kevin is awesome. Been reallly good friends with him since forever ago in NY. Worked park crew a few years together. I met him through skiing before i was on NS but those ns tinychat sessions were legendary.

Hoping i can make it back through wyoming to hang with him this summer sometime.

At beartooth this year my friend Alex skied with @cydwhit a bit. He knew my handle on NS from some articles.

He then saw who he thought was Cy in a pickup. Walks up to guy who turns out to be complete random and says "Hey! Would you like to meet the abortionator".

Classic. I actually did take a couple laps with the real Cy too. I feel bad for that guy in the pickup. Probably confused the fuck out of him.

Make sure it's a well lit, well trafficked public space, preferably during daylight hours. If you're really concerned propose meeting at the corner nearest your local pice station for the first time.
