If working actions of different firearms were sold as things to play with (like a fidget spinner) would you buy one?

I feel like cocking and uncocking my bolt action rifle while i watch tv is part of the fun of owning a gun. But i was thinking, do i even need the whole gun? Obviously i could buy whatever gun i want bc im not a felon but i wouldnt mind just owning the action from a glock or a beretta or a borschardt or an ak or a falling block or whatever. If i had a kid i would love to give them a naked weapon action so they could be inspired by figuring out how it works at a young age. If you dont like guns, thats fine, but if you dont find weapon actions interesting youre probly not a very interesting person. The different ways gun inventors have gone about making reliable loading/reloading systems are just as cool as car engines are.

One of you guys should light a fire under my ass so we can go make models of working weapon actions for kids to play with or to put in waiting rooms of doctors offices for the ppl waiting to try to figure out. I couldnt find any vendors anywhere on the web selling weapon actions by themselves. Seems like a missed opportunity.

i guess im being hard on ppl who dont find weapon actions interesting. But what would such a person be interested in? Doll houses? Shaving your legs? Eating imported artisan pretzels?

Honestly i have absolutely no understanding of how a reasonable person could resist finding weapon actions interesting.

Idk. I think most parents these days would not want to expose their kids to anything relating to guns at a young age. Dolan would, but thats why he is dolan.



but honestly i think as far as educational toys go, weapon actions are a fucking gold mine. For the same reason kids love watching factory machines do their thing on the science channel show “how its made”. For me at least the best part of how its made was seeing the genius behind the efficiency. Its such a visual stimulation when a machine does something that would take a human 1 minute to do by hand but the machine does it 1000 times a second.

in the same vein i think if your 5 year old can really grasp the way a weapon action works it will be very constructive for their intellectual growth.

the hope i guess is that they dont become gun crazy rednecks as adults.

but id rather have a smart gun crazy redneck as a kid than some snowflake who cant figure out how to change a flat tire.

Thats why i made this thread. They dont seem to exist except for piece of shit plastic revolvers.

if you want to buy a model glock that has a filled in barrel but has everything else working exactly like a glock, tough luck, it doesnt exist.



i think there should be a much bigger market for kids toys that are kind of a puzzle for them to figure out. And if you really want a kid to get on a high trajectory track i think weapon actions would be great puzzles/toys for them to learn the ins and outs of.

And if the reason there are no such weapon action toys on the market is because of anti gun lobbies, pls tell those cocksucking rapists to eat shit and kill themselves.

also i was thinking about the 3d printing craze. Would you be able to build parts to build a working model of a weapon action?

like obv you cant 3d print in metal unless you have a very expensive machine but i guess you could use a hard plastic to build the parts such that they should at least go through the motions of the real action.

I'd produce them out of clear, hard plastic in different tints to make the parts distinct, make them non-dissassembleable w/o a screwdriver or smth. Kids would lose the pieces instantly otherwise

Locks, transmissions, clutches would be cool as well

Idk. I think it would work better if it was metal because the enjoyment would be the metal sliding against metal and spring actuated pieces making set/defined movements against eachother with little resistance in an object that is completely indestructible.
for example, something like this i would love to buy for my kid as a toy for them to figure out the way it works. idk these types of machines (they kinda are) just seem beautiful to me.
