Rub on ski wax

does anyone have any experience with rub/spray on ski wax? I know it’s probably not great but will it get you through the day or does it do more bad then good?

Some of the new offerings from wax companies look pretty good, not going to do any harm but I think the durability of the spray and rub on products has improved.. I'm gonna do some experimenting next season

Most bang for the buck for rubbing on. Either Dominator Race Zoom Old Snow, or now fluoro free for slush would be Dominator Elite W. I had some folks apply without brushing, and all reported awesome on slush!
Any wax can be rubbed on, and that's better than nothing. Always should cork or rub in with a pad etc.

Check this video. Can be done in parking lot easy. With a wet structured base, best to brush, yet even if you don't brush, you will still reap the benefits.

True, the spray on from Toko is pretty good, but not for bang for buck. If you can't iron, for travel a decent option.
Again, any wax can be rubbed, then corked to improve durability, but will not last super long.
Just re-do half day etc.

It doesn't take long to go through a can of the spray on. Glide is good. But financially your probably paying race wax prices in the long run.

Yes, that's what I'm saying.
Some more good bang for the buck is the paste wax route.
These work pretty darn good. I found out when I broke my leg and could not wax my ladies skis. I had her use these.
One for cold, and one for warm. When you can't iron, these kick it good.

Vola MX 100% Liquid is working out pretty darn amazing for me, use their special fancy antistatic paper. vs the swix hs sprays, its even better than that! and one tiny 100? 250ml whatever it is, lasts a loooooooooong time. I'm 100% sold on it after trying now.



They also have a "deodorant" version.

My experience with rub-on wax is that it typically only works in specific conditions but more expensive stuff might work better. Most of the time its better than nothing and is good for maybe a day depending on the snow
