i had the bright idea of going up with a few friends and building a stick hut thing at my resort throughout the summer. what should i use for it? how do i build it? thinking i want it big enough to for 2-4 people and i don’t want it to fall over and die before next season.

Ahh so you’re prolly gonna go the lean to route. Your gonna wanna find yourself a down tree like this.
Then lay non rotting logs a decent thickness like Idk 3-6inches against it like this. Then cover that with small sticks and branches I find pines and hemlocks work the best.
After that cover it all in dead leaves from the ground and it should give you a bit of insulation and keep it relatively dry
A small saw, hatchet and a good amount of paracord will be useful. If you wanna be hardcore then out a tarp over the wood frame before putting branches and shit over it for extra cave in/rot prevention. Just make sure to use a brown/green tarp so it blends in more.

honestly I wouldn't go with a lean-to personally, you want something you can stand up in if the snow is wet and nasty. I would find a nice square or circle of trees, attach small logs going from tree to tree a little above head height or higher if you live somewhere where it actually snows. I would probably try to screw those on. then just put sticks on top for a roof and lean sticks up on the sides for walls.
the thing to remember with this type of shack is that it's not a survival shelter, so it doesn't need to be crazy weatherproof or warm unless you really want it to be

i think i have a perfect spot between a few trees and a big boulder plus the the rock doubles as a spot for a kicker. i’m gonna cut down some small trees and make use twine of some sort to make a layout of the walls with the trees.

dude build it so you can jump the shack that would be sick
we built it in one spot then decided to not do it there so we only have one wall done and it's less of a shack and more of a porch and a yard. it's hard to explain but when snow comes it's gonna be a lot of shoveling out.

I had a great time building a shack on keystone a few summers ago. It had one year of epic use before they tore it down... it was so much fun to hang out with the boys and build! Would highly recommend
