Tail butter technique - how to weight the tail of the ski

I managed to learn how to weight my tips some this year and was very pleased to be able to do some peanut butter 180’s when things went well…

But I can’t seem to put a lot of power into the tails of any ski I have…

I don’t know how others do it; are you using your tibialis anterior to prevent toe bang (i.e. will training this like crazy help)? Or can you just happily lean way back in your boots? Any tips?

I don't know if my problem is my brain, my body, my boots (dalbello kr2) or other. I'm pretty unstable when just trying to ride the tails; I'm weak in that position and it hurts my toes. Thanks!

The way I do it, I push my torso back to keep all my weight pretty close to the tails of my skis and then do half an Ollie. So I lift up with my knees and push my heels forward so I’m not relying on just my weight to flex the ski.

Pre pop, then tail butter to remove some of that stress off the shins

I've tried; obviously not enough :). When I try to torque back on the skis my mind fights me because it hurts (pushes toes into the front of a tight boot). Terrible technique probably doesn't help; just looking for ideas to speed up the learning.

Honestly it does wonders if you just have softer skis. I can guarantee you you won’t have this issue if you had Vishnus or something, no ski has softer tails than those.

If your boots fit right, there shouldn't be any foot problems doing butters. I just throw most of my weight onto the tails.
The best thing to do is experiment. Start by doing tail taps and manuals everywhere, even ollies on flat ground and dropping your tails down first. Then pop 180s off your tails. At this point you will be starting to get a good feel for how the tails of your skis flex and how to use that to butter.

just Lean back?!?! I must be doing something wrong but it works and I can flex some pretty stiff skis

pop
Heavily engage core while pressing tails down and simultaneously pulling your knees up(basically try to v sit up )
then pop off that flex and spin, shifty whatever
