Thoughts on Reckoner 122s

Ok, since I can’t find any threads on this, I was just curious what your thoughts were on the ski and where it shines the most. I just recently picked them up and found joy with it on both steeps, slush bumps, crud and pow and are surprisingly maneuverable(easy to pivot). Haven’t hit cliffs with em yet, but with the stability they offered me on smaller hits like catwalks, I bet it’d be quite the trip. Curious to hear from others.

I think the 102 is arguably my favorite ski I’ve ever owned. Definitely the most fun. They say the 122 is just a little more beefy and I imagine it’s nasty on deep days. Pretty sure Karl was on them on a very recent trip to Alaska if you want to go check his IG

I got myself a pair of 102 last season and they are extremely fun. No idea how park guys ride them every day though they hurt my knees so bad @tendinitous

heard that they are a bit like the pettitors and the other old k2 pow skis. Playful and buttery. But still quite stable when needed. The 112 rips atleast

You may not have tendinitis. No reason to put someone down. Why would he ski a wide ski if it hurts his knees?

Ah my first rails were on fully rockered and heavy 107 waisted skis lol so I find them to be the perfect medium. I have prodigy 1.0 but those can feel unstable. I’m also not doing switch ups or spinning off rails.

As far as the flex, it’s all in the tips and tails. You’re right about the ski being relatively stiffer underfoot. I legit worry about snapping them if I throw my weight all the way forwards or backwards. I’m also like almost 200 lbs haha

yeahhhh mine are mounted -2 and i way 130

Mine are whatever the team line is. -2 back from true center. At 130 you’re gonna have a hard time flexing anything too much other than a blend or wet

They got hinge points on the tips and tails, you just gotta pop enough to get to them

My opinion is biased on these but I'll give it regardless.

122 is a great ski. Lighter and more playful than the Catamaran but still holds up when you need it to. I ski these when you actually need a 122 width and I haven't had a bad day on them yet. Nice and floaty. Team Mount point has been serving me well.

112 (191) is my daily driver. I ski these if I just need to grab a ski without thinking about what I'm riding that day. I ski them in mellow pow, groomers, park, whatever. My personal favorite ski that I have had in years. I have these set at the team mount point. Also, I know that I am in the minority on people who ski the 112 in the park. Most opt for the 102 if thats the move.

102 - Most people who I work with or know who ski the reckoner line use this ski for their more resort and park oriented ski. Including the team as you've probably have seen. With Mt. Hood summer coming up I am setting up a pair of 102s to get the job done but that doesn't mean that I'm leaving the 112 at home. :)

Only got a handful of days on them this year, but love it. Team line mount. Definitely lighter than the catamaran, but I'd say a little less "bouncy" if that makes any sense. It'll still arc a nice wide turn on groomers and holds up on variable stuff, but as Brad said it's definity a ski specifically designed for deep days.

Whereas I would take the catamaran out on any day or condition just to mess around, the R122 is a ski I take out only when the conditions really call for it. R102 is my daily.
