Looking for a good shell/middle layer

So were I ski there isn’t alot of really cold tempatures and everytime I put on my coat to go shred I get a little too warm ao I started skiing with a hoodie but dont have any good middle layer coat and wanted to know if you guys had any suggestions. These days (atleast this season) most of the tempatures i had last season was around -10 so something light that keeps warm and that preferably has inside pockets to put my phone in etc. Thanks :)

Can never go wrong with something like a puffer vest for underneath a sweatshirt. I personally find just wearing a shell or rain jacket with a long sleeve underneath. If you want something to go under that sweatshirt that’s also casual to just wear around the house I recommend a synchilla or a snap up type fleece. Also by shell do you mean like a water/wind proof or resistant jacket?

Yea something that can cut the wind if its a little windy and that can hold that water if I fall When its a lil warmer :)

Patagonia r1 (hooded) is the bomb. It’s not wind proof at all. Somehow keeps you both not hot and not cold if you tend to be a person who runs warms and exerts a decent amount of physical activity when skiing. Pocket layout isn’t great I put my stuff in my pants. Whatever you do don’t get insulated down unless you want to sweat your balls off.

I usually just rock a llbean rain jacket. Ik some guys who rock arc stuff on its own no sweatshirt Under and just a tee underneath. Yea was looking at the arc stuff but its pretty expensive but that ll one looks good and price is really good. Will definitely look into it thanks alot :)
