I'm all for dumping career politicions but replacing them with celebrities is not the move. I see this going about as well as Kayne's run for President.

That's the problem. Almost none of these celebrity types are particularly bright, talk about interesting ideas or compelling arguments to solve the problems we face. The only reason why they're successful in politics is because of name recognition, they're used to appearing in public, and have charisma up to their eyeballs. None of which is the mark of a good leader.

We need problem solvers. People who are going to do the same amount of work they expect others to do for them. People who get their own homes in order before they come to DC to tell the rest of us how to live our lives.

If Kanye was serious about getting in politics and using his influence to make a difference, he should have run for mayor in his home town of chicago in 2019.

He wasn't perfect but he was easily the best president of my lifetime. He was abrasive to say the least but I think we needed that and still do imo.

Politicians should be looked at as tools, in a literal sense. They're there to be used without breaking what you're trying to fix even worse than it was. A perfect tool analogy for the job of a politician would be a scalpel. With Trump, we got a machete. Currently we have a rusty butter knife.

Trump would have been far more successful had the media not had a totally unhealthy obsession with his every breath and move selling panic and hysteria to 2 generations of emotionally compromised, low info retards who lapped up everything they were pushing. Obviously we don't have that level of scrutiny with biden but that's a whole other story.

The only person who has any shot in hell at beating Gavin Newsom is Kevin Faulconor, and even that is a TALL order in California where the majority of voters are like my parents and grandparents - 55+ or even 75+ age group, and aligned with the democratic party ever since the 1960's cultural revolution. There are a lot of Republicans in California, but they have shrunk to about 1/3rd of the electorate, and have very little power at any level in the state. Faulconor isnt even the mayor in SD anymore, and a Latino Democrat now holds that office. It's actually pretty unprecedented how poorly the GOP does in California.

In any case, even in the extremely unlikely case that Faulconor was installed via recall, he would be different than the GOP candidate of the rest of the country, just as Arnold was. You cant win in California on the bullshit qanon agenda, you'll just get absolutely stomped into oblivion anywhere that's not Kern or Lassen County, or the other Alabamas of the state.. That said, California democrats will successfully push narratives making Faulconor seem more right wing than he really is, and it will lose him a lot of traction in the contest - especially if a qanon candidate actually gets involved and siphons off votes in the Jeffersonian separatist parts of the state..

Right now, Newsom is trending very well. They've given out nearly 30 million vaccines, and half of those are now fully vaccinated people. As long as Californians continue to take on vaccine appointments, and the amount of people who are fully vaxxed continues to expand, then they will be able to continue re-opening things in the state and the situation will get better.

as for Jenner.. they are only doing this because their stupid reality show got cancelled and they want to remain relevant since they have nothing better to do - again, sounds like the someone who's name shall not be spoken.

Honestly I would probably never vote for her and find it pretty strange that she's running, but so little can surprise me politically at this point lmao. If Schwarzenegger, Reagan and Trump can win she likely has a solid shot regardless of her views. To summarize: fuck Gavin Newsom.

Reagan beat Pat Brown because of backlash against the 60's anti-war counterculture (a big reason was that a significant amount of California voters had jobs in the military industrial complex at the time, and the increased military budget for Vietnam meant job security) After Reagan, Pat Brown's kid won, and then won again decades later and served like 4 terms.


And Jenner is a lot less popular than the terminator ever was. Guarantee if you ask 50 yanks, all of them know who Arnold is but maybe only half of them will really know or care why Caitlin Jenner became famous in the first place.

As for Gavin, he's fine. People who dislike him usually dont have a particularly good reason lol.
