Replying to I want to make my own pair of skis

I seem to not be 100% satisfied with skis out there. I’m an east coast rail rat who’s a sucker for edgeless, soft ass skis. What I want to do is make a 93-95 underfoot with a fully symmetric design. Maybe ever so slightly stiffer in the tails. In terms of rocker I’d like to make it a hybrid between nomad 95s and Vishnu wets. Have lots of aggressive early rise that gives Vishnus their distinct shape, but have the super flared up, evenly rounded tip and tail that nomads have. Honestly not a huge fan of the flat and pointy tips that Vishnus have, but I am a huge fan of their softness and springiness. I like the tip shape and effectiveness of the round, flared tips, and wider underfoot shape on the nomads, but I wish they made them with a tad more rocker, and fully symmetrical dimensions.


this is why I’m disappointed that they discontinued the DaNollies. Full symmetry. That being said, do any industry insiders here think I could just hit up Icelantic never summer or industries and have them make a few pairs of DaNollies for me? They’re almost the same as the current nomads, and I’m sure they have the old molds around.


Tldr I pretty much want someone out there to design and make skis for me. Hell, I know the guys with jetskis, Vishnu, and others do this, what’s stopping me from making a ski exactly how I want it?
