SavageBiffThis is a good point there’s a few of us, @CatdickBojangles who tend to buy things we don’t need almost like we have an addiction, not saying he does, but I do, and I know others do as well. It’s like when something new or different comes out I gotta have it.

SavageBiffWell, I had a stock of it, and yes I still buy it, I wax once pre season(2 coats), maybe a 2nd time mid season, possibly but unlikely a 3rd on my most used skis, then again for storage. I’ve read multiple reports, it’s ok, it’s bad so idk but I’m not against not using it anymore, but I can feel the difference for sure, no doubt there, and I don’t see racers entitled to use it but not “us”, outlaw it for all or none.

In regards to stone grinds, seems like you ski a lot, but so do I and haven’t needed base grinds, are you grinding older skis, or is it cause your buddies use so they get more use than I think? Do you ski boiler plate %90 of the time?
For edge sharpening do you like really sharp? I kinda like em used... a lil worn down except on my carving skis. Is there an angle you like for looser more free riding style? I’m looking to learn more about edges, I’d like to pay a tuner but last time I gave my local the work he turned my stocklis into ultra carver so asked for a freestyle angle 🤷🏼♂️
I don’t think it’s necessary to spend lots to be considered hardcore, I think a hardcore skier
1-skis regardless of conditions
2-skis a ton
3-can ski basically anything
4-lives affected by the sport and possibly revolves around it.
5-gets injured still skis
6-skis shit they know they’re not good enough yet to

snowmosexualIt seems are pretty stuck in your routine but I would to say; I don't know how much you ski but technically you should wax every 4-5 times you ski. Waxing your skis more often is a better alternative than using high quality wax only a few times a season. More wax > high quality wax.

Last year I learned a trick where if you buy last season's Faction Candides in the summer you get them for cheap ($450) and then they'll break within a couple days of use and then they'll send you the current season's pair and you'll have new skis. I've done this twice now and apart from the 2 weeks when I was skiing my rock skis it works perfect.
jps2.0do you have to pay postage on the faction skis

BiffbarfJesus fuck I thought I was splurging buying last year's skis off craigslist and buying lodge food here and there
dshilandI feel this in my soul
SavageBiffYou drove 7000 miles skiing this year? Holy shit man, welcome to the were afraid of planes club? Honestly I think I’m around that, 2x Pa to Co, 1x pa to by/Maine numerous trips to snowshoe ... but I depreciate vehicles come tax time, even my personal vehicles are company owned, so the gas is a write off too 😁
skeirman70 miles from resorts, so 140 round trip, times 50 days.
anders_a192miles?! thats hardly local! we have all major resorts in our country within less than that from city center here.
we sleepover at more than 100-130 :o
SavageBiffYa that’s why we’re moving, we had planned to move 2 summers from now, but as of a few months ago we’re actively looking for either a farmhouse large enough for 3 rentals and vacation suite for us that we will re-remodel into our forever home, or B , a vacation condo that we will rent summer/fall and stay winter spring
Ive got closer resorts, but snowshoe is better than anything local like 7springs etc, and it’s an easy drive @3.25 hrs , we stay if I take family, if I go solo I day trip it
CatdickBojanglesStill don’t get why you haven’t swung through Wisp to at least scope it out. You might like it plus I can hook you up for free. Way closer than the shoe and way better vibes than bob nutting mountain.
SavageBiffI had planned to, I just got hyper focused on everything this season with reservations and all, next season is all about new places so I’ll be seein ya 👍🏻,
GKSFor the 2020/2021 season:
ski tech checks bindings every season-$700
big scrooge mcduck money pool that i dunk my balls in after a long day of skiing- $500,000
BigPurpleSkiSuitSo, I'll do what that tech does for 100 bucks less than that.
