Mountain hard wear or orage?

im looking to buy a down insulator for my shell, deciding between these two companies. Mtn Hard Wear is much more expensive. What do you think would be the better option?

If you have other companies to suggest, feel free to let me know what I should cop.

I had a pair of orage snow pants this year and they got destroyed. I’m not sure how their other products are, but I ended up having to sew my snow pants several times just this winter

I lied, idk why i said shell, i have an xl armada romer jacket, looking to probably buy a large insulator. the orage morrison giltek do be lookin nice tho. also been looking at the link down jacket from orage, aswell as the phantom and mt. eyak from mtn hardwear

I haven't bought orage since before they changed their market segment, but while they still made freestyle clothes their stuff was bomber.

I think its the Dakine Pulse II or an older variant of it from a few years prior, but Its been my ol' reliable since I bought it in 2017. Pretty warm, have skied a plethora of cold and slightly warmer conditions in it with a shell on top. I'm just a naturally sweaty dude so quite a few days got musty and damp and stinky but it works. Also works well in the springtime if you wanna go ExTra BIg MoUnTaIn vibes and throw your bibs over it.

Also check out the Strafe Alpha Direct insulator. Picked one up this fall and its such a solid all-around insulator. Took it touring a few times, skied at the resort in it, pretty great stuff.

Yea are there any details on what happened? I remember the community was furious, rightly so, but I thought they were out of skiing gear completely after that. Apparently not?

I have a strafe jacket with the primaloft gold or whatever and it's super warm for it's weight/bulk.

Evo has some really good deals on Strafe rn, including the alpha direct I think? They have some Norrona on heavy discount too and those are supposed to be good, probably a slimmer fit, more geared towards touring crowd.

They changed from making technical gear and freestyle gear to making just technical gear. They dropped all their freestyle athletes with minimal heads up.
