Dry Pattern,Plus: Winter 2002-2003 Forecast
Wednesday, Nov. 27
Hello Snowriders:
High pressure stays solid. That means dry for some time.
I am simply amazed at what I see on the weather charts. It's a stagnent blocking pattern called a rex block, which just keeps hanging on. Usually when they set up, they last a few days to about two weeks. This one wants to stay indefinately.
It may be influenced by El Nino.
The models don't show any rain/snow for at least 7-12 days...totally dry. Even then, they just bring in a day or tow of rain.
We have been plagued by some moderate to high snow levels, and now a ridge of high pressure moves in and that will block storms altogether for many days.
But at least we have some snowpack on the mid and upper slopes. And that's a good thing.
We just need a couple of good dumps with low to medium snow levels, about 2000- 4000ft should do it. But I just don't see any precip until after Dec 12.
I have many opinions but sometimes i dont agree with some of them - george w bush
