I was researching paleontogical maps to better understand rock compositions in the Kootenays and I came across something of interest for you guys.

Nelson BC was in Washington, in the Pacific Ocean. It broke through the waterline 160 million years ago.

earliest my town shows up is 240 million years ago and it looks like we were right on the coast.

Thats a interesting website. Washington State university channel on you tube had a show called liberty Washington and the Yellowstone hot spot and was saying the the plate or whatever in Washington rotated in a clockwise rotation and pendleton Oregon is the pivot point. Pretty interesting stuff.

I'd be in the cental pangean mountains 300 million years ago, would be pretty cool if the Appalachian mountains were still the size of the Himalayas.
