k I gotchu. #1 is pretty simple, I think standard form is like the provided equation in #3, so you just expand and simply.
y=(x+4)^2 - 3
y=x^2 + 4x + 4 - 3
y=x^2 + 4x + 1 is the answer. Make sense?

So for #2, you can follow my same steps to convert to standard form (lemme know if you need help), but for converting to vertex form, it would go like this
On the third line of that solution with the 3(?), the substitute 9/4 in for the parenthesis in the fourth line because its
y = 3x^2 + 9x + 4 so yours would be the ?x + ? Once you get it to standard form.

WTF is standard form and vertex form? This is coming from someone with a few degrees in math (slight flex).
I think standard form is ax^2 +bx + c.
1) You want to multiply out the (x+2)² to be x² + 2x +2x + 4 = x² + 4x + 4. You need to subtract the 3 to get a final answer of x² +4x +1.
2) Multiply the things in () to get x² -3x +2x -6. Now you need to multiply everything by a -4 to get -4x² +12x -8x +24 = -4x² +4x +24. I think vertex form is a(x-h)² +k
So you basically complete the square. Using a(x+d)² +e =0 with d=b/2a and e = c- b²/4a. You have -4(x- 4/(2*4))² + 24 - 16/16 = -4(x-1/2)² +23
3) You have 2x² -6x +4= 2(x -6/4)² +4-36/8 = 2(x-3/2)² -1/2.
Double check that I did not make a typo, but I think this is what you are after. Definitely go through these to make sure you understand them.

Thanks to you and getfulltilts for the conversion answers I also gotta figure out a-g. I rly just need some guidance in finding where this equations meet the 0 on the up and down part of a graph and if they do. It’s late I might just right down the conversions you all helped with and go to bed
I think you are asking for the y-intercept. So where the equation meets the y-axis (the up and down piece). For that you set x =0, then you know where it crosses the y-axis.

Sorry I don’t rly know what to call it but where the quadratic meets zero. Like the part of the U where it meets zero, usually it’s 2 spots sometimes 1 or none. I don’t rly understand this much like at all. I missed almost all of math last year because I was in and out of the hospital. They just stuck me right into algebra without taking rly any pre algebra.

I think you are looking for the x intercepts. To do this you need to find where y equals zero so start by setting the whole thing equal to zero. So now if you have 0 = (x+2)^2 - 3 you need to distribute the square and get rid of the 3. So now it is 3 = (x+2)(x-2). Since there are 2 different variables, there are two different points that y can equal zero. The points where y =0 should be (1,0) and (5,0)

Yeah so it’s actually 0 = (x+2)(x+2) - 3. You should get -0.267 and -3.732. These are probably some weird fractions but I just did it on my graphing calculator so they should be the right numbers.

op im not gonna do your homework but the best advice i could give you is to buy a ti-84 graphing calculator from texas instruments (or find some graphing app that you can do on your phone) and watch a few youtube vids on how to graph functions and get the data you need.
its really not hard. Just wander around in the right direction and you will figure it out very quickly.
youtube vids will teach you math so fast you will think ur a fucking dolan

What Dolan said. Get a TI84 and learn how to use it and everything will be so much easier.

they literally are the solutions... y=(x+2)^2-3 is the solution, y literally equals (x+2)^2-3. the only way to have another "solution" is to provide a given y value or x value, and solve for x or y respectively. but they don't provide any x OR y value so the solutions are already right there.
