Gondola between Squaw & Alpine confirmed

As many of you know, for the past few years Alterra has been bullshitting us about the construction of the new gondola between the two resorts. The construction has finally been confirmed, the lift will cross White Wolf, going from base to base of each resort.

Whats your opinion, Is this good or bad for Tahoe?

More people movers are always a good thing. If a resort is down to spend 80 million just to get two more assholes on the chair it's for the best. I feel like snowsports will continue to grow, and the less time people spend waiting in line the less time they'll spend complaining.

Pros and cons:

+ it's another lift running up to the top of KT22, capacity from both sides.

- alpine does not have the capacity to handle the crowds of squaw. not even close.

In and of itself, that's going to be a sick fucking tram. Riding and using it will be a ball

idk how I feel about the effects it will
have, alpine is a gem and somehow doesn't have squaw's crowds and I can't imagine this won't change that

reminds me of the canyons/pc gondola vail added, just a tourist trap.

It'll be awesome. You can catch some of the cool bits of alpine without having to traverse th terrible parking situation there or dealing with the asshole people and staff at the lodge.

It's been coming for a while now, but I'm not psyched its actually here. Squaw gets skied out on a powder days so much faster than Alpine, and I can't imagine this won't mean Alpine's gonna get skied out so much quicker now.

At one point I heard a rumor that the gondola would have a point people could get off at Estelle/Beaver area, and I'm just really glad thats not the case in the final plans.

Lmao that would be the worst

It's bad enough that it'll point it out to people as it brings them over. Again, that's gonna be dope to use lol but you're right it's gonna ski the place out much worse

Alpine is way chiller than Squaw. Don’t live there anymore but would be a bit bummed if I did.

Definitely going to be bummed to see the scene at Alpine change.

But since it’s inevitable might have to move back to SF to go more often.
