Good bindings

Hey so I’m just bought a new pair of skis for the next season (faction prodigy 2.0) and I am now looking for a a new pair of bindings. The ones I have now are marker freeskis from 2011 so yea I think I need new ones. I wanted look pivots but they are way too expensive and I also heard that they were pretty heavy, so I’m looking for something that is good for jibbing around the mountain with sum park slopes here and there. Salomon had somme interesting ones but besides that I don’t really know. Thanks for your help :)

Tyrolia attacks. Can't go wrong. Cheap durable and way better than any marker binding.

They're on the lighter side of 13 DIN bindings and you don't want to drop down to an 11 DIN unit, i.e. marker squire, attack 11, to save weight if you plan to ski hard or ski park at all.

Attack 13s can be found for as low as $120 USD new if you look around and have good timing.

nope! compact, pretty light, crazy affordable, low stack height, great reputation. easily the go-to recommendation for people for whom Pivots are unnecessary, too heavy, or too expensive

Bought the pivot 15 for my new setup recently after skiing attacks and will never buy pivots again. waste of money

Attacks: Best bang for your buck, solid binding, somewhat light

Salomon STH2: Super durable, insane elasticity, better feeling IMO.

Sths are nice but i dont like the uneven ride height. Attacks are almost flat and lower to the ski than any other binding.

i think the visual aspect of the attack2s toe piece only grabbing the toe of the boot might be a placebo. I think the actual dynamics of the feeling are the same no matter where the toepiece grabs the ski boot. Its not confidence inspiring when you look at how the attack2s grab the toe but they feel great and perform great so i think the issue is a placebo effect.

Does the fact that its lower change alot?

No it's not a huge difference but generally speaking, freeride skiers like to feel close to the ski. Why wouldn't you, right?
