Cast vs Duke

CAST is pivots, its hard /impossible to beat pivots if you like pivots



buuuut... ross tester and a few others skied the duke PT 16 for FWT... on some damn insane runs!

Cast= pivot 15/18 with few mm of adjustability
duke pt 16 = jester 16 with 60mm of adjustability !

I'd go Cast. I'm sure Dukes are fine, but if you're going hard, and occasionally touring, why not go all the way and have Pivots? I'm sorta unimpressed with comp results/film segments on bindings being used as proof that they're good. Like, Hoji put down so many segments on old Radicals. Is that relevant to your average NS hack who weighs more, is taller, and doesn't ski like a fricking puma? Cast is just P18's on the downhill. 100% the ride quality and reliability. No matter how good Dukes are, the top end that they could possibly be is equal to a Jester 16. That's plenty of binding for most people, sure, but why not stick with the tried and true at this point?

And with Cast, your money is going directly toward hardcore skiers doing their manufacturing in a small mountain town.

duke has very fragile ski/walk lever. I wouldn’t buy current gen dukes and would even take shift over dukes. I have 2 pair of shifts and the only problem is brake deployment during skinning - fixes with a rubber band)

Go CAST.

Which is lighter? The older generation of Dukes was incredibly heavy. Like 8 pounds per pair or something. Don't know what they weigh now.
