No seriously. Over the summer I had skiing dreams almost every night. Instead of doing the usual spin to win thing off a moon booter, I would hit rails in my dreams and do the most wicked shifty tricks on them, stuff I’ve never done before. TailTaps with rail spins, sniper taps, twisted shifty back/front 2s, just lots of shifty variations. When I dream about skiing I have total control over every aspect of my skiing and it’s fun.
fast forward to real life, and first couple days of the season. Well this season on like my first couple days I just started doing all these shifty rail tricks out of nowhere. First day of the year I had to have learned a good 6-7 new tricks that I’ve never even came close to doing before. They came to me first or second try usually and were super fun, and (not to toot my own horn) were and are pretty fuckin clean.
had a dream last week that I was doing effortless 3swaps on a flat tube. Bam bam bam just like that I was knocking them out. Keep in mind I’ve only ever done maybe
Three or four good 3 swaps, and they were on rails with a drop.
Fast forward to real life this past Saturday, and I was banging them out on a flat tube at my hill, and when I focused hard enough I would lace them so easily every time.
this got me thinking... I think skiing dreams make you better. I just try to remember real hard what the trick was like in my dream, and boom it comes like that. Sounds weird but I think your muscle memory is almost pre-trained to do the stuff, especially if your dreams are real vivid, so in real life it’s all eerily similar for your brain and it will come insanely easily to you.
