NivlacEloopnever been but that place bugs me. everyone in the ski industry preaches environmental sustainability so theres actually skiing in the future but then there is big snow refrigerating an entire ski hill 24/7. seems counter productive and how fun could it possibly be its tiny.
weastcoastI went in October. Super fun place, not sure what their prices are now but it’s definitely worth it to buy the 6 pack pass. It’s 135 bucks for six two-hour sessions, otherwise it’s 35 bucks for a 2 hour session. We skied only 6 hours so it racked up to like 110 bucks for just a day of skiing in a small indoor hill. Obviously the 6 pack pass wouldn’t be worth it if you go once a year, but if you go twice or more it’s def worth it, evens out to 23 bucks for every 2 hours of skiing which isn’t bad at all
the park was pretty fun. Probably a lot better to go in the morning when stuff doesn’t get washed out. Just a little expensive for what it is, but hey, where else can you ski 365 days a year.
Chrischi69Heard they have a rope im not sure if they do for sure and how fast it is
AwelteregoI mean, fair point. Counterpoint (related to the lack of diversity in skiing thread), it seems like it’s bringing a ton of city / urban first time skiers to the sport, many of which are non white. Colorado Sun did an article about it last year.
NivlacEloopIf people want to ski they have to drive to the mountains. It isn’t sustainable to refrigerate ski hills. Great if the sports becoming more diverse but if it’s getting more diverse at the cost of winters and snow then what’s the point there will be no skiing. Unless it’s in malls with no soul the vibes and stoke of skiing can’t be indoors and be real.
a_pla5tic_bagGo argue about sustainability elsewhere.
I too am curious about this place, it must be better than not skiing. I could ski park there, but if brought a set of slalom skis there could I earn some sick turns or should I just stay on my park skis?

SkiBum.Yes agree. We need more people from NYC to the ski areas and ski towns. Hope they put one of these in Texas and LA as they need to get more of that crowd to the mountains.

teamdummyI wouldn’t fly across country to go.
weastcoastSo they have a t bar but it’s not on 100% of the time, sometimes it’s just as quick to get on the chair right next to it.
and as for features tho they seemed to have expanded their fleet. They have a 15 foot flat bar, a 20 foot mini tube, 20 ish foot lil rainbow rail, corrugated tubes, couple boxes, etc. Nothing crazy but it’s definitely fun, the rails are real slick too.
AwelteregoUpdate on this. Went yesterday and I would say it's moderately lit. Overall the features are all pretty small but I think that forces you to try new shit otherwise you'll get bored.
They had two small boxes up top (One 5 ft flat box and another that was technically two rails laid side by side for more of a box vibe), a jump area in the middle, a mellow up-flat-down to down box, the 20 ft barrel and 15 ft flat bar previously mentioned, and some jib shit at the bottom. The longer rails were both technically urban lips, super mellow though, the rest were straight on's.
The jump was weird, basically a booter set in the middle of the run with no landing area (just right back into the angle of the run). There was a very small tranny you could send it to if you hit the jump from the side. That was fun until I missed doing a shifty 1 and wrecked myself. They raked lips about once every 2 hours which kept the place sessionable, no major ruts to worry about and the snow was solid.
I went 12:30 to 4:30, it started getting packed around 4-5p. Definitely recommend just pre purchasing the 6 pack because then you can skip the front line, string them together if you want to stay longer, and it's basically 50% off the average session price.
