Fattest Child's Powder Ski

Hey guys, I'm wondering about mounting a kid ski on my snowskate.

To get a good result as a snowskate subski, it would be really wide, really soft, have early rise, have a shovel head, and be in the 130cm-160cm range.

Seems like kid powder skis are getting fatter and fatter, closer and closer to the realm of being a great sub ski.

Anyone keen on some really fat kid skis?

The 4FRNT coyote I think is the fattest. They’re at 100-110 underfoot depending on the length. Also, the devastator JR should be good at 98 underfoot.

Deviation Works and Moment both have a kids ski in like 84 underfoot but that’s probably too skinny

The coyotes are tight! Would make a good ski-ski. Without having any sidecut on it, they kinda lunch tray around on snowskate tho.

I like the Devastators cuz they have enough early rise, and the construction is magnificent. My big hang up with mounting to a kid ski is that they usually have those crappy foam cores. Nice to see the aspen-maple core. Alas, the popsicle stick shape of the thing would make it a pain to turn on skate.

They're 90mm underfoot, but that's really not too bad. The directional shovel head sets it apart from the pack. A little rough math, mounting the deck on the 133cm would give me about 3" of tail and 14" of tip, which is just about right for an all mountain setup. Idk what the densolite core is. I'll have to get to a shop and hand flex this one, cuz it could be pretty sick.

Lol should I just Yolo and dm Pollard like, "Give me a set of these and I'll make em into two snowskates and give you one back".

Ha! If only.

I think it may have a bit too much width in the tail. Most snowskates have a big shovel and taper back. Makes the fish tailing motions more natural. I'm wondering if it'll be punchy and stable enough. I'll have to have a look at these in a shop too.

I only read the subject to this thread but I think its really mean that you single out one of your children as the 'fattest'.

You should tell that that they're fat in their own different and wonderful ways. Parenting 101.
