Ting ting ting ahem: I barely graduated high school

I just wanted to put that out there.
Most people here graduated uni, are in uni, or are on their way to uni.
I just want to say I'm a barely educated guy who's background is probably poorer than yours.
What am I going to do with my life? Not sure. I could wash car windows, do manual labour, retail, hospitality, the world is my oyster.

I was barely a C student all through high school and the way my parents and friends constantly degraded me for it had me feeling like burnout before I had even graduated. And yeah I was a fucking bum for the first 2-3 years after I graduated. I started working various blue collar jobs and I’ve been doing alright since then.

Congrats on graduating! Others dont even make it that far so great job. You will figure it out and learn shit as you go.
My advice to you......... go experience any and everything you can, work hard at jobs when you work, dont be an asshole, use those manners you were taught and things will work out for the best but most of all, have fun living life! Good luck

i should've clarified, i graduated 7 years ago and i'm currently a NEET. thanks for the advice though

This. College isn't the right move for everyone. Ending up stupid in debt for a pointless degree is way worse than not going at all

Take a gap year, some time to figure yourself out, maybe work and live at home and save a ton of $$$$, things like that. You don't want to rush into higher education right away if you barely got out of HS in good standing. , just my opinion as someone who was in a similar position way back when. College will eat you alive if you aren't prepared. Academic struggles are a part of life and it doesn't make you lesser than anyone, but definitely don't put anymore undue stress and debt on yourself if you aren't ready for it.

Plus online classes fucking blow. Give it some time before campuses are back to fully-normal. I kinda feel bad for everyone who is paying for an expensive degree and has to sit on Zoom all day. What an awful way to learn.


Edit: Didn't see that OP has been fresh outta HS for a few years now, but it still applies I think and especially for anyone younger and in a similar position. Don't let school counselors and parents decide your future cuz it may not even pan out

A diploma is a diploma , D- or A+ its still a diploma but few have figured out how to get their diploma as efficiently as possible, op= genius!

C’s get degrees my guy. I’m a low 2 GPA all my life but thru HS and got thru college. I may not be smart or academically motivated but at least i had the wherewithal to put my salary into bitcoin. That’s more than most of the clowns who graduate Uni do—they’re so institutionalized to believe in nothing but going by rule books—work for someone else, put 20% down on home, put all your money into retirement or a bank savings account. Youre not misssing out people who go to college are retards. I know so many wealthy people in the car scene without a degree because they know the art of hustle where college just kills that instinct and only teaches you the only answef to live is *more* schooling now everybody’s broke

you can work on an oil rig. That’s what i did, but as a geologist. But if u dont go to college its a good way to make $$ with future potential—work your way up to driller or toolpusher, go to mud school and be a mud engineer...

just make sure you figure out a side hustle or invest your earnings. I knew i wouldnt have my job forever thats why i put my $$ into bitcoin a few years ago
