Skiing in a cotton hoodie?

I got this sick GD x TGR hoodie from a friend. I’ve only worn shells but was wondering does it suck spring skiing in a hoodie on those warmer days

The only downside to a cotton hoodie is that wherever it touches the snow it will get wet. If you fall and brush the snow off before it gets a chance to melt you will probably be fine for the most part though

would something like this help? Or will it ruin the graphic. It’s a fragile decal I believe

Most nikwax you have to use warm or hot water for the wash so it could damage the hoodie or shrink it. If it’s warm you’ll be good I wouldn’t worry about waterproofing it.

I don’t think it’s worth the time or money. A ton of people wear cotton hoodies in the spring and them getting wet is just something you gotta deal with. If you are worried about it you could bring and extra hoodie or jacket and switch out mid day or something. Even on super warm days I’ve never had more than a few wet spots on my cotton hoodie so you will be fine

I’ve been skiing in the same old cotton hoody for years because it breathes well (I get hot easily). Spring time, dead winter, snowing, w/e. I’m in a dry climate in CO but literally have never had issues. I only throw on a “real” jacket if it’s windy and cold or if it’s gonna snow 5+ Inches and even then I often end up in regret after bashing moguls for 3 hours and sweating my ass off.

when I lived in new England obviously wore a jacket because it fucking rained all the time.

This is a good answer. It just depends on the climate and the hoodie. Cotton usually kinda sucks here in Tahoe where the snow is so wet. But some hoodies breathe pretty well and work okay on warmer days. In the spring, I'm just looking for something to protect my pasty white skin from the sun and from scraping up my arms if I take a hard fall. Thin cotton hoodies work great for that
