Benzos are not a “softer option” than opioids... just fyi

I dont want to encourage any of you guys to use any drugs but ive seen alot of people of many different ages who seem to think benzodiazepines like xanax, clonopin, and ativan are a safer, less addictive option than opioids.

First of all, benzos are very addictive. Probably just as addictive as opioids. Dont think you can be a weekend warrior and pop zannies at parties and then feel fine again monday morning. If you are naturally very anxious, benzos will give you a feeling of relief but once that feeling wears off you will feel a rebound affect and be very anxious, possibly for quite some time.

the first time i tried xanax i didnt even feel anything because i already had 0 anxiety before taking it. Benzos can only reduce anxiety to zero. If you are already at 0 anxiety then its pointless to ever try benzos. They wont lift you into euphoria like opioids. They can only reduce anxiety. The following day after the first time i tried this bar of xanax i was overcome with anxiety and nervousness. Xanax had basically given me no pleasure the night before, but it still came to collect the next morning and i felt horrible. So for me, compared to opioids, benzos were pure garbage.

If you develop a full blown addiction to benzos you are looking at the possibility of a withdrawal of massive proportions. Benzo withdrawal can actually kill you if you go cold turkey and start having seizures. Its no joke. Benzo withdrawal is awful. Alot of my friends say benzo withdrawal is worse than opioid withdrawal and in alot of ways i agree that it is.

Anyways, im not trying to say “do opioids instead of benzos”, because i dont want to encourage the use of opioids.



all i want to say is to those who think benzos are kind of like a healthier, safer, more socially acceptable alternative to the big scary opioids like heroin and fentanyl, you are wrong.

benzos suck just as bad as opioids or worse, and in my experience they dont even give you a worthwhile euphoria to justify the abject misery that waits for those who get dependent on them.

One time I consumed both at the same time and ended up in the backyard of my neighbors house playing him in that backyard game where there is a latter and those golf balls tied to a string and you have to toss the balls and wrap them around the latter. Anyways I was up 9-3 and then all of a sudden I realize I’m not actually in his backyard. Come to find out in an Applebee’s parking lot with this little league team called the Yard Goats and they are chanting “we’re number one!” Or some shit like that. My town doesn’t even have an Applebee’s.

Heroin withdrawals killed Jerry Garcia if I remember right. I don't know the statistics but I think it's safe to say opioid withdrawals are more deadly that adavan, correct me if I'm wrong with proof preferably.

Benzo withdrawal is well documented to kill people on rare occasions. Opioid withdrawal could kill you via dehydration or if you were sleep deprived and you stumbled into traffic, but opioid wd by itself isnt known to kill people. It probably could if it was bad enough but in general opioid wd doesnt bump you out of homeostasis directly like benzo wd can.

bc drugs have worked for me as well as they did for hunter s thompson. I comprehensively prefer living life with a maintenance opioid in my system to life before i got into opiates.



everybody is different. Some ppl ruin their lives bc of addiction, others dont. Some ppl love opiates once they try them, others dont care.

one size fits all is the absolute worst procedure you can ever have.

with anything, not just wrt drug use.

Idk anything about adavan and stuff but was on pain management from 07-2014 and quit cold turkey 3 times and it's rough on the system for sure .I thing it depends on someone's health but either way narcotics is a dead end road,

Opioid withdrawal won't directly kill you - it is very stressful on your body. If you have underlying conditions or are otherwise unhealthy, this extra stress could send you into a heart attack or stroke or something else that can kill you. But the opioid withdrawal itself won't kill you. The symptoms are extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant. But all this is true of any type of withdrawal so it's not really a recognized risk and opioid withdrawal is arguably an easier withdrawal to manage medically.

Ativan is a benzo. Benzo and alcohol withdrawal can directly kill you and generally more precautions need to be taken. Between 20-30% of people who detox from benzos without medical intervention will have grand mal seizures which can be fatal. There's also a significant risk of hallucination and psychosis not seen in opioid withdrawal(unless the patient has preexisting schizophrenia or another psychotic disorder). These symptoms can take up to a year to subside which is fucking crazy but sadly happens.

Personally wouldn’t recommend opioids either. Got perscribed them and I can see why people get hooked. I felt god awful after and wanted more but my parents prevented that, which is prolly a good thing.

That makes sense, I think Jerry Garcia died of a heart attack while trying to get off heroin but wow didn't know that about benz and alcohol, I don't do drugs now and never been so happy, drugs are overrated imo.

I don't know who that is or what happened but I wouldn't be surprised! It's really unfortunate. Thankfully withdrawal can be managed but it's still a shit experience for the patient. I definitely would recommend staying away from illegally using drugs if you can.

I've only smoked weed but quit that in 2012, I'm so glad I'm not om pain management anymore ,just one big hassle and tapering is the way off opioid imo, just takes insane discipline on one's own.

Youre kinda two faced notaskibum. Theres probably a million “junkies” in this world who are better at life than you are. Just bc somebody is dependent on a drug such as caffeine, or alcohol, or nicotine, or opiates, doesnt mean they cant live healthy productive lives. The ppl who cant control their will power were always destined to fuck up their lives. And the ppl like you who label addicts as “junkies” generally are the ppl who fuck up their lives when they get introduced.

I'm also tempted to try this. I've purposely steered clear of opiates because I have a bad addictive personality and I know i'd turn into a "junkie" like dumbass skibum states. Was able to kick some pretty bad habits with healthy eating and exercise. I've heard about Kratom but don't know anyone whose tried it.

Hunter s thompson was almost 70 when he shot himself and he apparently had medical problems that he chose to avoid dealing with.



he had a quote from years earlier:




”I would feel real trapped in this life if I didn't know I could commit suicide at any time'”

If you think hunter choosing to exit this world on his terms, when he wanted to, represents some sort of failure and his suicide should be a warning to anybody who does drugs, like “if you do drugs then you will eventually kill yourself because of your addiction”, then youre kind of an idiot.



Getting so old you cant walk and you have to wear diapers and get wheeled around in a wheelchair while you drool on yourself, to many people, both objectively and subjectively, can be viewed as a bigger failure than choosing to end your life gracefully and on your terms.

Being so afraid of death that you view suicide as the most awful thing that could ever happen is some pretty girly shit man. We all go to the same place eventually.

suicide in general is a very sad thing, but just as death isnt for everybody, sometimes neither is life.

hunters suicide probably spared his family some grief too. Long drawn out endings can be a complete nightmare for loved ones.

Xanax and booze is the worst combination of almost any substance. I have heard more fucked up stories from this than any other drug. You basically put a 12 hour hole in your life that you never remember and fill it with horrible things like car accidents, shoplifting, walking into traffic and any other number of dangerous zombie shit to ruin your life.

Seriously, all it takes is one time screwing around with it to literally permanently fuck up your life. It turns you into this weird mindless zombie with no notion of any real world consequences so you do all kinds of insane crap and your blacked out so you dont even know what you are doing or remember what you did.

Benzos and Opiates are the two things that will 100% sneak up on your and fuck your shit up. Im 32 and have seen some shit in my day and a lot of drugs and drug use and those 2 are the only ones I have seen that took some buddies down to the point it permanently altered their lives for the worse.

Kratom i hear is kind of like a weak opiate high. Some ppl use it to quelch withdrawal from opiates. Its alot weaker than opiates though and from what ppl say its not like a true sell your children for another hit kind of addiction. I hear some good things from ppl about it tho. I would try it but apparently if you are dependent on opiates youre not going to feel kratom at all. Your limbic system has to be a nice virgin poonanner otherwise its a waste of money.

Combining benzos with opiates is dangerous because they are very synergistic. By synergistic think 2+2=50 The effects multiply rather than add.
charlie sheen talks in interviews about how he never mixes drugs. Probably why he is still alive. He even shits on ppl who oded bc they mixed drugs. I dont blame him tho. He said “if your gonna come to the party you better read the fuckin manual”.

if you are so fucking stupid that you dont research what you put in your body.... then u have nobody to blame but yourself if you croak.

I’ve been wanting to try it for years and just haven’t pulled the trigger. I just bought an. Oz for 20$ shipped so I’ll let you know how it is when I finally get my
ass off this beautiful Florida beach and make it back to liberal shithole CT

I haven't been drinking alcohol recently and I started going to a kratom bar recently where they make drinks with it. The best drinks have a mix of red green and white veins. I started making my own at home by mixing the powder of red and white veins and orange juice. Definitely not as good as the bar but I'm just testing making my own shit. The high is like adderall on a low dose and like mild opiates on a high dose.

Nah dawg I was totally hooked on that shit for like a year and a half, it definitely cant be good for ya. Weird stomach pains, occasional vomiting, and like PRONOUNCED withdrawal effects. I don't care what those losers on reddit say, that shit is awful. It'll make you feel like you got dusty old bones full of green dust.

In low doses it feels like a better CBD, you feel a bit more awake and alert too, in high doses it’ll make you sleepy and feel nauseous. Like CBD it’s not something you really do to get high... it’s more like a supplement, some people make tea out of it but you can just eat it or get capsules. I only took Kratom for like a month cause my roommate bought a big bag of capsules but it wasn’t bad.
