I've had the 190 which is fairly soft. But nowhere near as soft as the blend or SFB. I'm hoping in the 180 it will be a bit stiffer out at the tips. This is going to be a touring ski for me though in the 180 with a pin binding. Last year it was a hybrid ski with a 190 and a shift.

the blend and sfb are noodles, have close to center mounts, -2 and -3, the vision has better suspension, slightly stuffer -6 mount, you can drive the shovels, it’s not a charger but it’s more stable than those, it’s just real light and it’s profile makes it easy to ski. https://blisterreview.com/winter-buyers-guide

So -2.5 cm from recommended line or back from true center of ski? Only reason I ask is I’m getting a pair so I’m just curious on mount points. Most people are recommending + 6cm from recommended line
Don't know how I missed this but they are killer. Perfect everyday charger for me. Good in anything up to 10ish inches before a grab a different pair. Nice and stiff. Bust through crud like it's nothing. Can drop some hip on them too with sharp edges.
Bought them as a comp/work ski when I worked for tjfs. They were perfect for the job. Unfortunately I don't ride them all too often anymore. After a torn quad and a couple concussions I don't get to go big or charge as much.

Same lol. Seems like a ski everyone dreams of being able to use a ton but in reality isn't really helpful.

Always respect how well thought out your quiver is. BO Gamer was my main addition this year, I think it can easily replace the Bodacious as a “short beast” while still being jibby.
I want to get a Black Ops 118/Gamer in addition to the Bodacious. I love having skis that differ in mount point, but are of a similar width, weight, damp tech, both large turn radius, etc.
With opposites mounts like that you can really change it up and ski differently on a given day, without changing the speed you approach things, just the style. I like this variety.
@profa_212 hooked me up with a pair of outsiders. I plan to use them mainly as urban and late season skis. Edges are kinda beat, was thinking going edgeless like @weastcoat did. Thoughts?

Yes definitely go edgeless. Otherwise you’ll be catching in the snow. Manually rip out those little edge pieces with pliers before they fuck up your base by getting caught in the snow and getting ripped out violently. Then epoxy your gaps and you’re gucci. Those whips look fire.

The kartels are actually new to me this year and they're basically mint, the dude I bought em from barely put a scratch on em. Super stoked, I haven't been on ON3Ps since my jeronimos finally shit the bed a while back!
Added some 2015 191 Volkl Mantras, to scratch that Gen 2 Cochise itch I had. I found a minty pair with 12 Din demos for $150. Ridiculous price I couldn't refuse.
Seems better for me than the Cochise actually, as I wanted a charger that's good in lots of bumps and funky off piste. The full rocker hopefully will be money, but it's still beefy

I've never skied this generation until today. I dont know what I was thinking. It's a great ski, and I should have known. The 191 Katana from 2012-2014 is one of my favorite skis of all time, and this ski is basically a thinner version of it.
I remember I got hooked on camber for a while. So back when this gen Mantra came out, I was pissed they got rid of the Katanas, then wary of full rocker in a 100mm ski as I was moving on.. and then the next year the Confessions came out with camber as a 116mm ski, these kinda just got swept under the rug for me. Big mistake

Initial impressions are dope. I was skiing it on Gold Coast today at Squaw/Palisades, about 550 vertical feet and even some off piste with spring-like conditions. It was pretty easy to maneuver and pivot through the bumpy, catchy weird snow. I could tell it wants speed and steeps to carve that long radius sidecut, and it comes to life the harder you push it, but it feels relatively chill at lower speeds for how much ski it actually is. It feels very similar to the old Katanas in that regard.
The ski feels very damp too, I'm pretty sure it will be stable enough for big terrain.
Oh it def is capable of some steeps, I skied that ski for a season in like 2015, reminds me of my corvus and I wish bc would make a 99 corvus or a stiffer daemon , which I think they discontinued

I really want to demo the Declivity 108, I heard its super damp and stable for how light it is. I haven't skied my Declivity X yet (maybe tomorrow), but the construction is different and I went X for my fat ass

The X is definitely a whole different animal than the 108. The X is purely “let’s goooooo” while the 108 retains some serious playfulness, I’ve been diggin it.
I don’t ski much for narrow skis these days, even when Breck is bulletproof, there’s always some nice wind blown chalk or other smooth snow to ski somewhere up high.
