Is it or am I just out of the loop and shouldn’t be confused by all the people I’ve seen wearing their jackets in the park at my local and on ig. It’s not a ton of people but enough to be like hey wait a minute am I dumb?

Has been for a couple of years in Canada. Their rain jackets and hiking pants have always been cool here too.

I was thinking the same thing. Saw some people who were actually good wearing arc jackets and usually it’s just rich people out west wearing it

Im a hater of all brands that go for the overpriced exclusivity market.

if you have alot of money theres plenty of expensive things you can buy that are worth every penny. Buying something expensive just because everybody knows its expensive is a cataclysmically douchebag maneuver.

I would rock a walmart getup if it was good quality.

I’ve beat this horse to death but:

If you live in a place it rains a ton or you tour into the depths of the wilderness then yea, arc is incredibly rad.

If you are a resort skier in a dry climate like CO then no, it is not rad.

So like New York where it rains like end of March through June and then end of September till mid December. But you get weird rain storms every Christmas time and February break?

Yea I used to live in the northeast and remeber skiing in the rain one day only to be skiing in -10 with full ice sheet the next day being an all to common occurrence. I moved to CO and leveled up like 3x skiing ability just by the snow conditions.

every single big storm we would watch and just be like please snow not rain please snow

Idc if it’s expensive, idc if it’s in expensive, I buy what does what I need it to do for the situation in which I’m using it, idc if it’s name brand or not but ngl , I like apparel with a cool logo, don’t care if everyone else has it or not, I also try to find what I need in a style I like.
Unfortunately but not unfortunately, I end up with some Richie stuff and it sucks being looked at like a yuppie rich shmuck bc I got nice things. Had some quality spider gear but I’m not a fan of their fit anymore, got a black crows ventis parka shell that I love, and some planks gear that I like too, some cheap 686 bibs I rock 99% of the time, but I don’t judge anyone based off their gear and certainly don’t look down on or think I’m better than anyone cause of it. There’s people rippin with less than I got and I imagine there’s a rich yuppie investment banker somewhere out rippin me too but who cares do you have fun, instill others with stoke

For those who live in climates where it seems overkill, it's worth reminding that Arc is from Vancouver BC - it rains over 150 days of the year here and lots of those are rainy days in the nearby mountains too. For days in the city or our mountains it's simply some of the best and borderline necessary gear. Can imagine it would be overkill in colder/drier climates.

It's kind of just the uniform here - neither cool or not but generally respected by all. And I think you're starting to see it on park kids whose parents are down to deck their kids out in gear that they can ride in for hours in the rain or dumping wet snow. Win win.
If you see a beginner in Arc you know they're probably just rich and overcompensating their insecurities by throwing money at them, but if you see someone who shreds in it you're kinda like "yeah that makes sense".

My Arc layers are some of the best I've owned but I rock a Trew shell mainly for style (also based in the PNW and they understand wet weather). My gf picked up a shell and now she rides with me to last chair because she's still comfortable at the end of the day. So I think they're dope.
