I’m a pretty big fan of Alex and I was scrolling through his feed on insta and noticed he doesn’t really ride his own pro model. And this had me thinking, I thought the skiers work with the company to make a ski that rides just the way they want it to and looks the way they want it to as well. But Hackel has been on these wood graphic green bottom skis the past few months and I’m curious why. I know on3p has a custom ski builder where they can practically put any top sheet or base layer on a ski that they want, but I feel like the company would want him riding on his pro model, that’s why they gave him one in the first place, because he’s a super talented skier and people will buy the skis that he rides. This really is a pointless thread but I feel like if I had a pro model I’d rep that thing to death. And this sent me thinking about another skier who doesn’t rly ride his pro model that much, Henrik. He rides the arv 86s because of knee pain, understandably, but you would think armada would change up the shape of his pro model or at least give him some customs that are arv 86s w the edollo graphic. Seems like it would be hard for a ski company to sell a pro model when the pro doesn’t even want to ride it. And disclaimer I’m not shitting on either of the brands I’m in a pair of arv 96s myself and I think both companies are fantastic. That’s just my two cents.
