Has freeskiing defeated snowboarding?

NotaskibumBack in the day before half of yall were even born, i had to sneak into the terrain parks, boarding was the "Cool" thing and it seemed like skiing was on the decline.

But in recent years it seems like there's fewer and fewer snowboarders on the hill and especially in the park. Three kings lift at PC seems like a 4:1 ski to board ratio and none of the boarders are really throwing down. I never see boarders really ripping the big mountain stuff these days at snowbird either.

Am I crazy or is it just utah?

GrandThingsNever been to Utah myself but from what I can tell it seems like snowboarders tend to prefer Brighton and skiers tend to prefer PC?

JemsI’ve noticed there’s a whole bunch more little skiers at hyland than snowboarders and they’re getting pretty fucking good

ericformanThe snowboarders in the park at eldora are mostly good and the skiers are mostly bad (like myself).

BigPurpleSkiSuitCan't speak for the park but Big Mountain skis are generally better tools than boards unless it's powder. Of course Travis Rice can throw down anything the skiers can.

rojo.grandeLmao idk how you got all that from what I said. Anyone I ski with can vouch, I hit features in the weirdest ways possible. But in terms of the way it’s setup, the features are more conducive to snowboard tricks than ski tricks. A drop transfer is easier to hit on a board than skis and if you think it isn’t you’ve got less brain cells than my left nut.

WoFlowzI had no problem with a drop transfer on skis never tried it on a snowboard so idk. Also pole jams on skis are mad fun all though rainbow rails that are pole jams are a little challenging
