Ok NS I’m tryna convince my parents to fly me out to California to stay with my cousins this summer for like a month cause I wanna learn to surf. Ik the waves aren’t amazing that time of the year but it’d be a experience of a life time. Plus I’d get to skate and see my cousins I haven’t seen for 6ish year

get a job mowing lawns and pay for the flight yourself. and don't fail your damn algebra class. find someone that will tutor you during a study hall or something. show them that you're actually making an effort and maybe they'll be more likely to fund your luxuries

I already have the cash, and I get help from my teachers afterschool. I just mentally can’t understand algebra for shit. Prolly should figure out a job for this summer instead of just doing odd jobs

Dude I bet you can understand algebra, you just need to find a learning method that works for you and put in the time. Watch videos on the internet, talk to other people in the class, heck, hit me up if you need an explanation. You got it

I have a house in California by beach pull up.

Surfing feels like skiing pow stoke wise it's amazing.

I surfed my first reefs in Hawaii a week ago and cut my hand so bad. i was def getting to comfortable with California Sand bottoms.

100% you can still find super solid waves in the summer, especially if you are just learning. btw I am in Alg. 2 right now haha

Yes bro.

Start on a foam board or something super stable. Foam board won't hurt if you hit your board when you crash. Pop up straight to your feet, not your knees than your feet.

Thanks man will do I’ve just been kayak surfing and trying to surf a sup on the Great Lakes since I haven’t been able to afford a board. Been looking into foam boards they look kinda cool any recommendations? For the Great Lakes and if this summer trip works out?

Apparently if you surf in an area where great whites are not uncommon, then every time you go out surfing there is a great white or multiple great whites that could easily kill you swimming within 50 feet of you but they dont attack and you the surfer never even know they were there. That is enough to kill the fun of surfing for me. I surfed once yrs ago with my friend in santa barbara for a day and i was constantly looking behind me thinking i was going to see a shark fin coming towards me at any second. It was no fun at all.

i respect surfers alot for the balls they have when it comes to sharing the water with animals that could bite them in half, but surfing just isnt my cup of tea. if i ever went surfing again i would bring a divers knife strapped to my leg like in old james bond movies. Something that would give me a chance to btfo a shark with.


and yes i do realize that i am a gaping, gaping vagina...

If that doesn't work out, convince your parents to take a trip to Maine for a week, we've got some decent (but cold) surfing in the Portland area. I could also hook you up with a cheap sea kayak tour around the harbor.
