Replying to Skeptical about going back to asymmetrically dimensioned skis
So I’ve been riding Wets for a couple years now, and I love how they are symmetrical in both flex and dimension. 115-88-115 is a nice shape for a rail ski.
I’m looking to pick up a used pair of Icelantic nomads or DaNollies (unlikely I’ll be able to find these) next year just to change things up. the nomads (95 model) aren’t quite symmetrical. 130 tip , 120 tail. The asymmetrical flex doesn’t bother me as much as the asymmetrical dimension. It’s honestly been a minute since I’ve ridden asymmetrical skis, and I feel like it would make it odd as hell to carve switch, edge into switch 2s, etc. Or will I not notice a difference? Idk it just spooks me as someone who does a good 30-40% of their skiing switch, and I pretty much learned how to ski switch/ do switch tricks all on my Wets. I’m worried that if I swap to an asymmetrical ski that I will have a tough time. Anyone ever been in this situation or am I just overthinking the hell out of it?
