Idk. I was just saying that asian food is a wide category. Id be surprised if a person liked every type of traditional foods from asia. Its like nobody would say “i like european food” bc its such a diverse category.

It's just good food in general, lots of vegetables and flavors. Who doesn't like egg rolls, egg foo young, Mongolian beef, pad see you, yum now, panang curry, sushi the list goes on. Hamburgers and pizza are good too but I feel better after eating asian foods.

I love the feeling after eating a ton of sushi. Idk if its bc the tuna is so healthy or if its a lingering buzz from all the wasabi. I put so much wasabi on my soy sauce my eyes start watering. I love the post nasal burn for some reason. To me, wasabi somehow transcends typical spicy foods like chips and hot salsa.

I was looking at getting some real feaze dried wasabi powder but read it tastes like crap, any recommendations fir a real hot wasabi, the horseradish variety is ok.

I got the powdered wasabi from the grocery store. I agree its completely worthless and doesnt even taste like normal wasabi like u get in a sushi restaurant. This stuff, however, is just like the stuff you get at a sushi place. Its already made, and you just squeeze it out like toothpaste.

If there’s a Japanese market near you look for the wasabi that comes in tubes and says 本わさび or 生わさび (real wasabi, raw wasabi) on it. That’s the good stuff

I remember once years ago we were at this sushi restaurant with my family and my brother and I walked off and ran into this other random kid. My brother dared him to snort Wasabi not thinking he would actually do it. Well, he did and made a huge scene. He was straight up rolling around on the floor crying and screaming and stuff. Anyway, my brother and I just bailed and went back to our part of the restaurant before his parents came to check him out. The rest of the meal we were tweaking the restaurant staff would kick us out but I guess the kid never got around to ratting us out. Still feel kind of bad about it but I mean who is dumb enough to snort Wasabi on a random dare from some kids in a restaurant?

Dude I just had some with my sushi at lunch and fuck dude that’s how I felt. I get it at the top of my head more than anything. Then the next 20 minutes my face feels like I just finished crying. 10/10 would recommend.

This is because the compound that causes the burn in wasabi is allyl isothiocyanate, not capsaicin like hot peppers. It's a different kind of spiciness, blasts your nose with heat and then fades quickly. Hot peppers and the like are oily so the burn lingers for a long time, and can get super unpleasant especially on your lips (or asshole the next morning).
