Crew Nicknames

Whats up guys! So recently we had a new skier join our crew at the bird. Super rad dude from Maui, and is always getting pretty sendy. He has since earned the nickname: The Flyin' Hawaiian.

Just wanted to hear about cool nicknames from your various crews over the years and how they got them.

Got one of my best friends I grew up with into skiing a couple seasons ago.


He picked it up quick, and he was very daring. His 2nd day on snow EVER he wanted to try some blue runs and at A-basin, they can be pretty intimidating to the beginner skier. We'd go to the top, and at the entrance of the steep icy blue groomer this man would point em till about 20-30mph and just HUCK his body sideways to try to stop. His rentals would explode underneath him, and he'd ragdoll down the mountain while I played cleanup crew behind him. The thing was, this wasn't just a one-time deal.

This was ALL DAY. Bell to bell, the man would just explode, slam, get back up with a bloody mouth and a smile, and do it again. You see, he was paying for a day pass so you best believe he was going to get his money's worth. Skiing was rich white man shit, in his own words.

Anyways, conversation and legend came about. I was mad impressed with him, bombing the hill with such confidence to eat shit and get back up time after time. A mere mortal would have given up, but not him. He did go on about how he got 'dominated' by the mountain, but he was psyched to try it again. He skied more here and there, then the next season got a pass and has been getting 30+ days a season since.

He would bomb the mountain. And he would get dominated by the mountain. But he was fearless and persistent. And now he fuckin shreds anything and hucks whatever.

As such, the Bombinator was born. I've been tryin to get him on NS but he's way less autistic than I am so we'll see lmao

I have a buddy that earned the nickname Crash. I am sure you can guess why. He was a good skier but when he would go down, he went big. Numerous knee and shoulder injuries along with a few concussions, he ended up turning in his gear in hopes that he could still walk at an older age. He still carries the name to this day but just doesnt send it anymore.

Ps you were straight up haullllling when I saw you the other day😂 I hope you know that seeing you do that was part of my motivation to stop standing on the top of that cliff and actually drop it😂😂😂😂 and I definitely yelled “this is for you Leo!!!!” before I did, Donno if you heard it or not hahahahaha

That seems a little bit racist, maybe we should refer to our group of people we ski with as a posse, or chapter instead, then it's applicable to white people. Would that be better for you?

Never had a crew to give me a nickname but one time i was skiing switch on a road and a dude on the lift yelled "PUSSY" and proceeded to dome me in the head and hip with two snowballs
