Nah, anyone who says aerials is whack has never stood on the inrun and stared these jumps down irl. These dudes are absolutely insane, mad respect to aerials, our sport wouldn't exist without them

I remember being at the Park City water ramps once and some Olympic Aerial team showed up. It was unreal how high those guys hucked and how technical it all is. Yeah, its not freestyle but the sport is its own discipline and I have respect for anyone that can do that.

It’s more of a gymnastics event than a freestyle thing really. I don’t think it’s wack at all could you imagine the mother fuckers that pioneered that shit- building quarter pipes with leather boots and wood skis? Gnarly as hell

Yeah it’s just a different sport. Just like racing which also deserves a bunch of respect. Look at it this way: I’d rather watch a slopestyle comp than a soccer game but that’s because I like slopestyle skiing, not because soccer is whack.

Lmfao I’d love to see you try and ski those jumps. They shoot the skier almost completely vertical and it takes a retarded amount of commitment and skill to do aerials. You need some humble pie buddy

It’s almost exactly like competitive trampoline, trick names are the same and everything. Even the announcers talk about how some of the athletes transitioned from tramp and are still learning skiing. In my opinion it’s more gymnastics than skiing but it’s also insanely gnarly.

It's not my cup of tea but I got to see the arial aces or whatever they are called perform at Utah Olympic Park and it was insane. Not my cup of tea but definitely badass. OP probably thinks moguls are whack too.
