50KalTry and get a Vaccine. I imagine anyone trying to get to NZ is gonna need vax proof or expect a super long quarantine period.
That's if they even let people come in for work/holiday visas.
Normally a working holiday visa is super easy to get for Americans who are under 30 years old. Just need fill out paper work and like 3K bank statement.
For sure and then once established it's way easier to get a sponsored visa.
I feel like vaccine is prolly the move to go anywhere this summer but work holiday visas don't seem super likely. I needed to get mine in for Australia anyway but was stoked I went 2019 because I'd have missed the age window there with covid.
Hoping Ill still be able to get a sponsored visa/skills visa whatever the hell it was going to be when the boarders reopen.
It would be cool if things mellow out enough that proof of vaccine negative test maybe on each side is enough without a 2 week quarantine getting there.
Also I dont remember about NZ but Australia you can extend your visa for a second year if you do like 3 months of rural work like farm stuff etc OP. If you don't think youll get a visa after your work holiday it couod be worth it to get in the door a little further. But not sure if NZ does this and who the fuck knows with covid what tlvisas will be like for a while.
