Today I read Cy's article urging more people to post about how skiing makes them feel. The internet is a wild and at times shitty place to post things, but I think there's always room to talk about chairlifts. My current home mountain is Mt. Bachelor, and my home lift on said home mountain is Red Chair. It's the only original lift still used on the mountain; an old fixed-grip triple with each chair covered in a firetruck-red paint, now mostly chipped and covered in stickers. All of the terrain can be accessed by the new detachable, high-speed quad a hundred or so yards away, but there's something special about riding the slow, older lift. Red Chair is similar to Alta's Wildcat lift in that a lot of the main hits can be seen from the lift, so heckling is a big part of the lift ride.
I would love to hear about other favorite chairs that are still being used at other resorts, and maybe claim your best heckle ever from said chair.
