Backflip on this side hit?

wanted to do front flips but they are super weird and hard to commit to with lips and scary as shit off cat tracks and stuff without a lip so option 2 is backflip and this is the spot i’m gonna do it (at least that’s the plan). my season edit is coming along super well and this would be the best thing ever to have as a ender clip, keep in mind this is my first season edit and i kinda suck. but just give me tips on the actual backflip and how to help commit and how to visualize and stuff. thanks!

there’s a chance that the thing won’t even be there next weekend because a couple 60° days and rain but if it’s there i want to do it really bad

I’d try to build it up or just go faster. Throw it fast to get it around and make sure you keep your head back. The moment your head goes forward, you stop rotating. Once you get the feel you can do them normally and flip slower.

That would be pretty impressive. Either build it up or you have to time that pop perfectly with a lot more speed

Bro if you want that shit you gotta do it yourself. Its hella easy. You got at least one buddy to help you, the cameraman. It's good character building at the least!

nah i mean like not enough people go on the sides of trails and hit stuff enough for it to start getting dugout

just my 2cent but id try it on a large enough park jump if possible. If there's no jumps ... well you know the answer.

I would say don't. If you can already flip fuck it, send it. Ive done em off sketchier stuff. But that thing isn't much or a cut up. You want something a little bigger and steeper(that still has a smooth transition)

This coming from a guy who learned backflips on a 1/4 pipe made put of a 3 foot rock, torward ones in the woods(no inverts mtn) in between trees and over a rock. Etc. So maybe I've just gotten more ysed to less sketchy shit. But I don't think that's an ideal jump for learning flips, especailly on skis.


Spark notes: can it be done, yes, should you no.




You also up you chances of a tip on high speed low flying features. Def not a great spot to learn them.

For sure. I grew up at a mtn with 0 park amd barely any good sidehits. Started backpack shoveling and building jumps. In the spring when the snow was good would get as many as 7 or 8 built and ride em all afternoon.


Probably why I've worked park crew for 18 seasons. Checks out

i love building kickers but middle of january an employee got mad and said he’d take my pass and i can’t afford another so my shovels have been stashed in the woods since

Damn that sucks. It all depends on the mtn and the spots. Ive nmdef been kicked off the mtn for building jumps and have had to tear down jumps i never got the chance to hit.

Maybe theres a spot in the woods or something. I just think you need something a bit bigger and steeper than that cut up.
