I feel like social media ruins a lot of things. One person does an overly elaborate thing and then it becomes the standard.

Dude just go. It’s not gonna be some perfect night by any means, but it’s an experience you only get once or twice (if at all with covid). I’m sure you can sit at home and get stoned literally any other day of the year. I know friends who are still in relationships that started by asking each other to prom.

Fun story... wasn’t prom but senior hoco actually now that I think about it. I was supposed to go with this girl I had been talking to/loosely dating for a bit and then the day before homecoming she decided it would be a good idea to start fucking my friend and go as his date instead so that was kinda boof.

Random side note but it becomes relevant later... the morning of hoco, my econ teacher told us he was supposed to go and said that he’d give extra credit if we take a selfie with him, so I definitely wanted to take advantage of that.

Anyways, I go to a lil pregame party beforehand, hang with some of the boys, and there’s also some chicks there and one of them didn’t have a date so that worked out well I guess, but it was kinda awkward since I had no idea who she was. We load up a car full of people and roll up to the school parking lot, and I look over to the car parked on our left and it was the homie Ronnie who happened to be my dealer at the time. I get out and go in his car and it’s him and this other dude torching up a dab rig. Long story short, I take probably the second dab of my life and it’s a pretty large sized glob.

My new date and I walk up to the gate where I had to throw away my water (might be vodka, ya never know) and get in a massive line to get breathalyzed and go inside. I’m still coughing my lungs out and feel wayyyy too high. My eyes looked fucked, my lungs felt fucked, I had some serious spins going on, and the the combo of some gnarly cottonmouth and the shirt/tie squeezing my neck was making me gag. Woulda been reaaaally cool if I coulda held onto that water. I try and keep my composure for as long as possible, but I really needed to yak and I saw a big trash can further up the line. The problem was my econ teacher was standing next to it, but I couldn’t hold back anymore and just kinda ran and went for it. As I’m puking my guts out, he pulls out his phone and takes a selfie with me, then looks me in my eyes and simply says “I know” which scared tf outta me and I’m still not sure what he meant by that, if he said it at all. By then, that girl I was with had disappeared and I never saw her again, which is understandable.

Luckily, toward the end once I was feeling better and cleaned myself up in the bathroom, I found some other girl who I guess ran track with the girl who fucked my friend, she was grinding on me, and I ended up getting laid at the afterparty, which to 17-year-old was fuckin cooler than skiing Alta on acid.

All of this to say, there was a lot of chaotic shit that went down, but it’s a great memory I’ll cherish forever, and I’m still glad I didn’t stay home.

TLDR: my friend fucked my gf, I greened out while my econ teacher and my whole school watched, and I hooked up with some cute girl.

Go, go have fun with your classmates. I went my senior year and as I look back, I am happy I did.
