Fuck yeah, we’re finally here. Drive to survive season 3. I’ve been to 5 races and I love DtS because it’s gotten so many people I know into f1.
Where all my f1 homies at?

daannnnieelit's not supposed to be a, "race" though. I enjoyed it more than regular quali personally.
GhiniWait, why shouldnt it be a race? You want a parade, no overtaking?
3maniaFinally a pretty cool race. That Alonso/Hamilton battle was solid viewing, too bad about Vettel getting the DQ at least it moved my boy Sainz up on the podium, but still that was one of the best over all races I've seen in years.
SessionI literally cried at the start.
Max pulling a points finish with a severely compromised car is pretty next level.
Hamilton crying about Alonso racing him hard at high speed was ironic.
chills__Totally forgot about this thread for 2 months lol
But anyways last weekends race was a good time. Honey Badger back on top, McLaren 1-2, but my favorite moment was seeing Bottas' reaction to Max/lewis crash lmao.
Also check out the Schumacher documentary on Netflix if you haven't yet, just came out on Wednesday
r00kieF1 really needs to be hyping up max v. lewis even more. I've never followed F1 much just cause its difficult from here in the states but I'm getting pretty engaged as the season comes down the line.
BradFiAusNzCoCadude it’s huge. So much more so than in the past. It’s owned by liberty media now (USA company).
I shit you not - I heard old lady (like 75-80) telling her friend about Max’s tire on Ham’s head on Tuesday in the booth next to my mom’s and mine at dinner. I was shocked.
Ham and Rosberg was such a crazy rivalry ‘14-16 and hardly a blip in USA sports Media. Meanwhile, the race was selling our every year in Austin.

r00kieI remember reading about the Liberty media thing a couple years ago and how they were really going to push the US market hard and its clearly working. Getting a second race in the states next year right? If and when there is finally a US driver I think F1 will really take off over here.
Twinjibber77Yeah! Same same but different: I posted an F1 meme for the first time ever (F1Troll is a good follow) and over a half dozen people replied that they're watching this year.
BradFiAusNzCoCaUSGP! Let’s go!
r00kieExciting start if you're a Lewis fan.
BradFiAusNzCoCaThe start was the only exciting part. Probably the most boring USGP race I’ve seen
r00kieYeah, the strategy races aren't the most entertaining.
BradFiAusNzCoCaEvery overtake for the lead was pit. Awful race
Twinjibber77It's on like Donkey Kong... who will take out Lewis? Will Max crash himself?
chills__Lewis definitely has the momentum going into this weekend but who knows what'll happen
Dream scenario is Bottas taking out Lewis lmao

r00kie'F you, I'm leaving anyway.' Lol
BradFiAusNzCoCaI saw some stat a few weeks ago where Bottas had scored the most points of the 3 since announcing he’s going to Alfa. I think Merc is going to see that most f1 drivers don’t want to play ball like Bottas. Russell is either going to fight Lewis next year or crumble due to internal politics at Merc.
0sumYeah, I really think Mercedes will miss Bottas when he's gone. He basically never went against team orders and was pretty consistent with his performances. The politics and drama Mercedes will likely have with 2 highly competitive drivers will definitely make it interesting, but I can see it backfiring on them, especially with other teams catching up to their performance.
If Mercedes are out there just for the WDC I think it's probably a better strategy to have one very good driver and another 'just good' (For F1 standards) so one driver always gets more points than the other.
r00kieFIA doing some NASCAR style officiating to set up that ending lol.

0sumHoly shit didn't expect that ending. No matter who you support that was pure entertainment. WDC coming down to the last race on the last lap. They're definitely gonna be talking about that one for a while.
BradFiAusNzCoCaSeason 4 released today
chills__Watched 8 episodes yesterday lol but it's definitely felt a little underwhelming compared to other seasons. Maybe it's because I actually paid attention more during the actual races. But definitely excited to see them race again soon

SessionBeing an actual fan now has kinda ruined DTS for me.
Monsieur_PatateI'm very careful not to get spoiled during the year so when I watch the new DTS season I'm always on the edge of my seat because I have no clue what happened, it's amazing. This season was pretty good too imo.
Not sure how much of a narrative the show is trying to push vs. reality but Red Bull sure comes off as major douchebags. While I usually root for the underdog, I don't like them at all and even wish Lewis had won again (or better yet, Bottas)
Can't wait for next season to see how Lewis will react, I was shook when I found out the guy is 37 too.
BradFiAusNzCoCaRed Bull, particularly Christian Horner, has always been douchebags. Stretching back to when I first started watching in 2013 and probably before too. One of the first races I watched was the Multi 21 incident between Vettel and Webber
-eREKTion-If anything, Drive to Survive has shown how common team orders are. I don't get why people even give a fuck about multi 21. That and "Fernando is faster than you" still get brought up as bad things when that shit happens every race.
0sumI know it's way too early to call anything, but going just off this qualifying the mid-field looks like it's gonna be tight. Great to see Bottas out-qualifying his old seat in an Alfa.
3maniaI think Carlos and Ferrari are finally going to get there shit together and start finishing up front for a change. or a least closer to the front.
3maniaWell, that worked out pretty good. Scuderia is back.
0sumKinda disappointed by McLaren, they struggled with the last big rule changes with the Hybrids. Can't blame it on the PU either, with Mercedes still doing so well. Does seem like Ferrari PU is on top atm with Haas and Alfa doing so well, but still doesn't seem like there is much in it between all the PU's.
RosbifGreat to see Ferrari and Haas doing well and seems like the PU must be a step up.
I want to see next year DTS already, for Guenther from Haas being stoked, and Christian Horner crying his eyes out.
