Replying to Something we need to discuss

Why is it that a women(or even a man) can not walk down down the street and not feel safe? Why is it they feel forced to take the long way around in some situations? This is something, we as men need to talk about. From events that have recently happened here in the U.K. we need to openly talk about how others do not feel safe. We need to do something about this. I have a wife, I have a daughter, I want them to feel like they can walk somewhere with confidence and not feel threatened. What can we do? I know there are crazy people out there but we need to look out for one another, we need to not be the ones that make others feel threatened. I believe it all starts in the household of how we are raised. I hope your father, or even mother has taught you how to respect others and to maybe even stand up for them when needed. I challenge all you you to discuss this openly with your friends and discuss these matters. Remember gentlemen, respect the ladies.
