What's the worst injury you've ever gotten skiing?
Came flying off a cat track on an icy night and got booted to Mars landed on a patch of ice slide out slammed onto my head crack my helmet in half then bounced and flipped to the bottom ended up running over my own thumb and breaking it in 3 spots, and slicing it open and needing stitches, I cut through my glove and ruined it also. Couldn’t walk straight for a good bit or see straight and probably knocked myself out cause I didn’t remember anything until standing up at the lift with my buddies and some ski patrol
I’ve had 2 confirmed skiing like by a doctor 6 confirmed by a doctor in total and if you add in the others I’m probably close to 10 and will have CTE in my 40s
dislocated my elbow. worst pain of my adult life. begged ski patrol not to cut my jacket off and to not tell anyone about the pile of pbr cans that fell out of my pocket
buck_nastyCompound tib/fib fracture and partially shredded knee from coming too hot out of a straightline chute and blasting a tree right at the boot line
Torn ACL. The pain wasn't the worst thing ever, but the surgery and recover are rough. Still doesn't feel quite the same as my original knee almost 2 years out
Sprained wrist. That one was an annoying for awhile. Stiffness, bruises, etc. Interestingly, I tend to get hurt more when I’m not skiing.
Some top ones are: breaking my funny bone while skating, and partially tearing my quadriceps tendon while bouldering. Think I got some meniscus damage from that one too. Still flares up when my legs are tired or out of shape

Compression fracture of my T12 vertebrae hurt pretty bad but not as much as breaking my wrist. Came in too hot to a pond skim and got buckled by a sticky compression at 40mph.. came out of a daze and it was in the shape of an s haha

seriously tho i've never seen those things before or if i did i assumed it was a jacket tied on the waist. seems like a pain, they should just wear jackets that cover their butt

Dislocated my elbow trying to dub on a tramp and my my funny bone nerve was crushed inbetween the bones, felt like i hit my funny bone as hard as i could for the whole 4 hours i was in the hospital before they re-located it. shitty injury

hahaha yeah every time this thread comes up I bring this one up.
Back in highschool I was ripping some glades fast. mid turn i had a pre-release on one ski. This forced me to either set it down on the hip and 100% fly into a pack of large trees, or try to straightline through. I chose the second option, shoulder clipped one of the last trees in the pack, and spun me around like a top. Ended up spinning around and hitting ear first into a tree stopping my rotation. Laid there for a few seconds dazed and confused with a feeling of dripping coming out my ear. Buddies saw and came over. Got me up and checked me out. Took me down to the base, and i stood there pouring blood all over the base area until we were able to find a patroller.
Kinda hard to tell from the photo, but it was fully separated from the back in those gashes. I think it was 18 stitches in the ear. Docs couldn't numb the cartalidge, so like 16ish of those I felt every bit of. The doctor literally gave me a towel rolled up to bite down on and grunt into like a fucking wild west movie and told me sorry. Basically got my cartilage ever so slowly pierced 16 times that day lol. The grossest part was hearing my cartilage slowly crack as he was shoving the needle through. Deafening.
Best part was the doctor did such a good freaking job. You cant even tell which ear it was nowadays. Dude was stitching together hamburger and i cant believe how well he did. Good hire urgent care rapid city.

Dislocated my shoulder completely overrotating rodeo at Eldora last november. Had to drive down to boulder with it out of socket the whole time. It wasn't that bad pain-wise, but it needed surgery and took about a year to recover.
Broke my foot once too, which was pretty painful but I was skiing again in 6 weeks.
Needed surgery and metal bolts that are still in the bone today
Worst pain I've felt in my life and it took me 30 minutes to get my skis back on... Easiest part was skiing down the rest of the hill. Also taking my jacket off took another 10 minutes of agony

ya dude i thought my arm was broken as fuck. When they were working on popping it back in place i was yelling and swearing and the nurse was like, "is all of that really necessary"-- prolly not but this shit hurts lady!
I’m gonna assume asking how about the ACLs... went off a jump, landing backseat with more weight on his right leg, felt the tear and so he shifted his weight to his other and it gave out as well... it was super crazy

Got absolutely worked today and ended up with a concussion and a broken neck. My seasons over which I’m obviously bummed about, but that doesn’t mean shit compared to how bad it could’ve been- I overshot the living fuck outta this one jump, gucci plateau claimed me as one of their victims, and when I skied down I had my homie drive me to the hospital and checked myself into the ER. At first they didn’t even think I’d need an X-ray bc I was so stable & responsive coming in. Turns out I broke my c2 c4 and c5 vertebrae. Really fucking scary considering I wasn’t in a neck brace until the ER. Stay safe out there homies, and fr fr wear your helmets. I would’ve surely been paralyzed or died if I didn’t have mine on. Got me real spooked

A shitty whiplash concussion that put me in a shitty brain fog for like a month and a half, I had complete appetite loss and I had to force feed myself and lost like 20 pounds, it was fucked
