THANOSDOGFARTI want to get a job and I’m almost done all of the lifeguard courses but I’m not sure if I actually want to do it or not. I’m just worried it’ll be too boring or stressful, with the whole making sure people don’t drown thing. Any lifeguards on here, what do you actually do? Is lifeguarding fun/worth it or are there better jobs?
meatrocket8you have at least be lower than 12% bodyfat to be a lifeguard, im not joking either its a legitimate requirement at some pools. something about increasing their customer loyalty.

icedI get to look at titties all day there r no downsides
I use to so id recommend find somewhere super chill like a camp and work that cause most places will want you to instruct which sucks dicks. Camps usually need a lifeguard present for all activities so you can just chill while kids play dodgeball, and then actually lifeguard on a paddle board for an hour or two. If doing this is impossible, do it for a year for your resume. I worked a rec centre and guarding sucks. You would think its nice to just sit, but you can't just zone out and daydream. Its nice in the mornings with only one old guy doing 1000 lengths, but most of the time you have to be attentive and constantly going through rotations of people. One day a guy will go under and every second counts. Happened to me and I was fortunate enough to be actively watching.

PaulBufanoi was a lifeguard for years at a pool and can tell you it was dumb light but also looking at the pool for so long is really boring. on the plus side i always showed up to work fried and made money by sitting for 8 hours so it’s not all bad
THANOSDOGFARTNot trying to be an asshole but I personally wouldn’t want my lifeguard to be fried especially if I can’t swim, that sounds like a pretty stupid idea
zuesDo you know how to swim?
THANOSDOGFARTYes but I weigh 125lb so if you’re 200lb+ and I’m on duty you’re out of luck
