Alex Hall dragged a winch miles into the woods just hit a gnarly rail and used a baseball field fence cage thing as a trampoline. I'm sure everything minus the loop rails is possible to find in the street but I could be wrong

Not to mention the fact that these crews use cameras to film and computers to edit. Then server farms host the videos online! Can you believe that they support manufacturing, likely in countries with less regulations on emissions? It's so irresponsible. I wish they would just transplant the edit directly into my brain. That would be way less polluting to the planet. /sarcasm

I'm all for being green but this level of scrutiny is a bit ridiculous. It's not like he spilled oil into a pondskim to make it look more visually aesthetic.

What? That’s on redbull, Jesper just says he wants do do something and those guys set it up for him. Sure he could tell redbull that he wants them to only get used, ethically sources trampolines but he also wants to keep his sponsorship. I think we should pressure the companies setting this stuff up to be more eco friendly instead of the athlete they’re doing it for.

This. Put the pressure on sponsors so athletes can make a living without having to do the absolute most out of fear for losing their livelihood. If the general reception to Jesper doing all these stunts was negative and he didn’t get the digital impressions he does, Red Bull wouldn’t have him doing trampoline sessions in the middle of a terrain park or tearing up a ski cross training facility with neon lights...

Not another sustainability thread. I'm all for it but c'mon guys, take a step back and look at the larger implications. The humanitarian rights violations and perpetuation of slavery for conflict minerals to produce technology doesn't get talked about... but watch out, this individual flys three times a year and gets new skis each season!
The conservation selectivity here has always been weird.

The carbon footprint of skiing is insane. If you ski as much as we do, you use roughly one ton of CO2 to power a season of your chairlift rides. But that's only a small fraction, because we all commute to the hill by car. I personally drive an hour+ to the hill, both ways, twice a weekend. I normally carpool, but covid has made that tough. That's about another two tons of CO2 a season. 3 tons is roughy 3 round trip cross-country flights. If you think turning a snowmobile on to bring a trampoline halfway up a run is bad, I encourage you to take another look because a year of skiing is way more fucked. Hell, the simple act of eating meat is about the same as skiing.

I am a big environmentalist but I am tired of finger pointing. We all have work to do here which is what made what the Bunch did so cool. They were self critical, acknowledged that they weren't perfect and said they still had work to do.

That's pretty standard. Unlike most other crew edits, they end up using up all of their B-roll so they have to dip into the C-roll just to break the 10 minute mark.
